Chapter 25

On top: A random laser tag arena. I don't know where its located. Just found it online.

I left the locker room. We had just played our second basketball match and we won. Yay!

Since the day of Jake's birthday, when we almost kissed, we went back to pretending as nothing happened. Oh well.

As I was nearing the parking lot, I saw the captain of the rival basketball team flirting with Jake. He wasn't paying attention to her but she didn't seem to notice. She kept rubbing her body on him and he moved away.

Seeing that I felt a 'little' happy.

Definitely little.

I just rolled my eyes at the girl's persistence and made my way towards them.

"Hey babe," I said wrapping my arms around his waist.

A smirk made it's way onto his face as he played along. "Hey, you. Congratulations."

"Thank you." I smiled at him.

The captain was still standing there. She rolled her eyes, "Whatever. When you are finally bored with her you can call me. We can have some fun." She said the last part seductively, winking. Although that was a fail because it looked like something was stuck in her eyes and she was trying to get it out.

Jake visibly cringed and I controlled my laugh. "No thanks. I'm good." Saying that we left her and met up with the others.

All of us decided to go to The Hideout since we were all starved.

Guess who was our waitress. The bitch from last time. Ugh! Can the universe please give me a break?!

Every time she walked away from our table, she swung her hips more than necessary. I honestly thought it would break. While taking our order her focus was on him.

He kept ignoring her. But no. Some bitches just can't take a damn hint.

Couldn't she find someone who was interested in her? I felt bad for her. She was trying too hard. Although I have to admit, I felt a little better seeing that he wasn't paying attention to her. What? No! I did not think of that. I'm just tired.

It's time to accept your feeling sweetie.

What feelings? Pfft. I have no feelings.

After that, I just ignored what was happening in front of me.

We paid the bill and I practically ran outside. She lingered a little longer. Jake whispered something to her. Her face turned red, I'm assuming with anger, and she walked away.

"What did you say to her?" I asked when he came to me.

"Don't worry about it." He smirked and walked away. I really wanna know what he said, but whatever it was must've really pissed her off because her face was still red.

I chuckled and got in the car.

The next day after school, all of us decided to go for laser tag. Caleb also invited his friend Damien to come along with us.

Damien was almost 6 feet and had brown hair. We hit it off almost immediately. He was from another school and was Caleb's new neighbour. They've known each other for a while though because their parents were friends and they'd met each other in the past.

We had already decided on the teams. Damien, Brooke, Peter, Caleb and Jake were in one team, while Austin, Noah, Stacey and I were in the other. When we reached there, 3 girls were already waiting.

The person in charge told us that we had to include them with us. All 3 of these girls were definitely not dressed for a game of laser tag. Who the hell wears heels for it?

Jake and I locked eyes and gave each other a competitive look.

"We choose the girl with the green top." She was chosen because her heels weren't that high.

Jake chose next, who let me tell you were more than happy to be on his team. She reached him and immediately put her hands on his shoulder.

Hands off!... Where the hell did that come from?! Give me a break world. Literally all girls just fawn over him...why the hell am I still going on about this.

You're still denying your feelings...

Whatever. I noticed her also eyeing Noah. I pulled him to the side. "You are going to go in, and let the girl get all over you, work your charm and all that. Just when she least suspects it, take her out...not literally."

He smirked, looked at her then nodded. "Let's do this."

Jake and I gave each other one last look and the game started.

"We won! Suck it bitches!" Stacey shouted as we came out of the laser tag place.

"You guys cheated! What Noah did was unfair." Brooke said and crossed her hands.

"Excuses, excuses." I waved her off and chuckled.

"Yeah! You guys could've done the same. But y'all didn't. Not our fault." Noah said giving Damien a high five.

We bickered back and forth, till it was time for everyone to leave.

"You wanna go to the park?" Jake asked me as I got in the driver's seat.

I looked at the time and noticed didn't need to be home for a few more hours. "Okie."

At the park, we just sat in silence. It wasn't awkward. Things with Jake have started feeling, dare I say, normal. Easy. Comfortable.

As I saw Jake, sitting there, staring at the sky, I realized something. I have teensy tiny feelings for Jake.

Okay, screw it now.

I like Jake.

Me( hiding from people throwing stuff): Another update has been made...very late.

Brooke: Feelings are out! They have been accepted!

Stacey: Finafuckingly! You gave us a late update but could you at least check your grammar? Or make it less dry?

Me: Hey! Cut me some slack. I've been stuck doing projects, studying for tests etc for the past 2 and a half months. I really wanted to update but didn't get a chance to. Now I did so yea.

Jake: You like me. Awesome!

Addy: Oh shut up. You like me too.

Alex: Don't get ahead of yourself Jake. This is just a phase. She'll get over it.

Jake: No you were just a phase. She realised what a fucking pu-

Me: OKAY! Enough both of you.

Alex(turns to me): You like me right.

Me: I like you both. But sorry Alex. I ship them more.

Stacey: Let's go Jadisson.

Brooke: A ship name. Good job.

Me: This book is not being put on hold. The updates are just really slow. I'm trying to update on time though, I promise. Add this story to your library so you'll be notified when I update next.
