This chapter has been updated. I don't know why but I took like 2 days to type this. On top is a pic of food (brownies)... again.
Anyways, enjoy :)

In about a week, the basketball team was going to have the first match of this season. Everyone was really nervous. The football match was also coming up. Our school had a proper football team. like the one with a spherical ball. I think it's called soccer...? I don't know.
Practice just got over and my body was aching. We had been exerting ourselves throughout the week but I'm sure it would pay off. Everyone was working hard and were dead set on winning. I was the team captain. I have no idea how or why, but I was. This was our last year playing. Some of the girls and people from the boys from the boy's basketball team were planning to play it professionally.
Back to the time when I feel my limbs are going to fall off. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating it a bit but during the break, I barely did any exercise. The football team also had practice at the same time as us and by the looks of it, they had a tough practice too.
So, after changing, Jake and I were gonna head to my place to finish the end of the English assignment. The next drama class, we would decide what we'll be acting out.
Jake said he had to go to his place for something and that he'd come in 15-20 minutes. For some reason, I wanted to play my guitar. I took it out and started strumming random chords. I then started playing the chords to 'Thinking Out Loud' by Ed Sheeran because it was kinda easy and also because I like it. I didn't realize it but I started singing along. It wasn't until the end of the song when I turned behind and saw Jake there. I had no idea when he came in and I sure as hell didn't hear the door close.
Jake was staring at me in awe. I just stared back waiting for him to say something. "Wow...you were-that was...I didn't...whoa. That was pretty amazing." He somehow managed to say. I smiled, "Thank you. It was nothing."
"It sure as hell was not nothing. That was friggin' amazing. How long have you been playing for?" I started strumming random chords again.
"Since I was nine. Mom got this for me on my birthday. She said that this would help me escape and get lost in my own world."
"Can you play something else?", he looked at me expectantly.
"How about we finish our assignment and then. Deal?" He nodded yes excitedly.

"The work has officially been completed. Now, you promised you'd play something." I was a little shocked and slightly glad that he remembered. "Okay. Which song should I play?"
He though for a while and told me to play 'Perfect'. I didn't think he was the type to listen to such songs. But then again, never judge a book by its cover. He somehow figured what I was thinking and said, "I told you to play this song because it is a song that can be played by a guitar only and no back up is needed. Not that others need back up but I wanna hear some of his songs."
I didn't mind so I started playing. He started singing and his voice was amazing. Not like how it was during movie night. His voice was angelic. He told me to join him and I did. We were in perfect harmony. When the song ended we just stared at each other. I noticed he had green eyes. It reminded me of the forest. It was mysterious. They were nothing like Alex's eyes. I was brought out of my thought when he let out a small laugh and said, "We should sign up for the talent show."
"I'm not that great. Besides, I have stage fright. You don't think Emms and mom have tried to convince me to go on stage? I am no way in hell going in front of hundreds of people to perform or even say something. They just wait for you to make a mistake so that they can criticize you." I took a deep breath to calm myself down.
"You wanna make brownies?", Jake asked randomly.
"I'm in. But just so you know. I can't make anything without burning the house down." I shrugged.
"Luckily, you won't because one, we will be using the oven and second, I'm here. And let me tell you, I'm an amazing chef." He was really cocky, wasn't he?
"I don't know about that because I've never eaten anything you've ever made."
"Fair enough. Let's give you a taste of Jake magic", he ended it with jazz hands.
I started laughing, "Okay. But I'm way too lazy to move." I was implying something which he took like 10 seconds to figure out.
He sighed and mumbled, "Whatever you say, princess." He then turned around and I got on his back.
"To the kitchen."
We entered the kitchen and he dropped me onto the counter. I just sat there and watched him, move around the kitchen and gather all the ingredients. He measured it and started mixing all of them. I connected my phone to the speaker and started playing some music.
As Jake was getting the brownie out of the oven, Emma came. "What smells so good?"
"We made brownies."
"Excuse me? We? I believe I did all the work, therefore I made it. You just sat there." He knew he was right but, even if it was a stupid argument, I was not going to back down.
"My kitchen."
"My creation." He said with a smug smile on his way, because he knew he had won this.
"Can I please eat the brownies now," Emma chimed in between.
"Yes. Please tell me how do the brownies that I made taste."
She took a bite and slowly shut her eyes. "This is so good. Who knew you could bake. By the way, half of these are mine. I'll give a few of mine to you since you made them. Addy, you and mom share the rest." Saying that she walked away.
I tried them and they were actually good. But I wouldn't tell him that. It would just boost his ego. So, when he looked at me, I just shrugged and walked away leaving him there with a frown.
