I let out a sigh as I walked beside Korra towards the Order members.
"How did I know Tenzin would send us home?" I asked Korra as we walked towards them.
She nodded her head and let out a sigh.
"Wait." Tenzin said stopping us in our tracks.
I turned to look at him with Korra and he looked between both of us. His eyes landed on Korra and he let out a small sigh, a sigh that silently gave me hope that he had changed his mind.
"I have done my best to guide Republic City toward the dream my father had for it, but you're right. It has fallen out of balance since he passed. I thought I should put off your training in order to uphold his legacy, but you are his legacy." Tenzin said gently touching Korra's shoulder.
He let out a small sigh and moved his hand away from her.
"You may stay and train airbending here with me. Republic City needs its Avatar once again."
"Yes! Thank you! You're the best!" Korra yelled as she hugged him.
I heard the kids let out a yell and shook my head.
"Wait, Kari gets to stay too right?" Korra asked as she pulled away.
"I can't keep one of you without the other one." Tenzin said with a small smile.
I let out a yell and jumped up. I quickly regained my composure and bowed my head.
"I mean, thank you Tenzin." I said softly.
He shook his head and let out a sigh.
"Spirts don't let me regret this." He said as he went to talk to the Order members.
After talking to them he told us that would have to tell people Korra was here. As soon as he told us Korra would have to make a speech, I let out a groan. I stood behind her a few feet away and looked around the crowd, making sure no one was going to make a move to hurt her.
"Hello?" Korra said into the mic.
It let out a screeching sound and I held back a laugh.
"Back up a little." I whispered.
She nodded her head and did what I said, backing up two small steps.
"I'm Korra, your new Avatar." Korra said softly.
It wasn't long before people threw questions at her and I shook my head.
"Does this mean you've moved to Republic City?"
"Were you trying to send a message to the Triads yesterday?"
"Will you be fighting crime or the Anti-bending Revolution, or both?"
"Will you be working with Chief Beifong and the police?"
"Uh ... yes, I am definitely here to stay, but honestly I - I don't exactly have a plan yet. See, I'm still in training, but, look, all I know is Avatar Aang meant for this city to be the center of peace and balance in the world, and I believe we can make his dream a reality. I look forward to serving you!" Korra said with a small smile.
"Okay now close off by thanking them." I whispered as she looked back at me.
"I'm so happy to be here. Thank you, Republic City!" Korra said happily.
Korra turned and I quickly led her off the stage. The next morning I set beside Korra at the table and gently dipped my tea.
"And, in the final round, the Buzzard Wasps won with a decisive knockout! What do you say we go to the arena tonight, catch a few pro-bending matches?" Korra asked Tenzin with a smile.
"That sport is a mockery of the noble tradition of bending." He said before taking a sip from his own cup.
"Come on, Tenzin! I've dreamed about seeing a pro-bending match since I was a kid and now I'm just a ferry ride away from the arena." Korra said as she pointed behind her back.
I looked between both of them and smiled as they argued.
"Korra, you're not here to watch that drivel. You're here to finish your Avatar training. So, for the time being, I want you to remain on the island."
"Is that why you're keeping the White Lotus sentries around, to watch my every move?"
"Yes. In order to learn airbending I believe you require a calm, quiet environment, free from any distractions."
"Oh you have a lot to learn. Calm and quiet isn't in her dictionary." I whispered with a light laugh.
"All right, you're the master." Korra said giving up.
We soon made it outside and I held back a laugh as I saw Korra struggle to use Tenzin's contraption.
"Korra, how about you try this. Take a deep breath, and then let it out." I said as I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath.
I slowly let it out and then opened my eyes to see her do it.
"Now, release all your energy and be like a leaf." I said softly.
I moved to the contraption and moved through it. I kept my eyes closed and felt the air hit my face as I made it through dodging all of the panels. Korra looked at me shocked and I sent her a smile.
"See, Easy. Even a non bender like me can do it." I said softly.
"Sometimes, I think you should of been the avatar." She said with a groan.
"Then I would be the one struggling to master airbending." I said with a laugh.
"I hate you." She groaned out.
The next day I noticed Korra was having trouble and I smiled as I shook my head and grabbed her arm and led her out of sight.
"Where are we going?" She asked as I dragged her behind me.
"Shut up and come with me." I said with a smile.
We soon made it to the arena and her eyes went wide.
"I love you." She said as she hugged me.
"Yea Yea, now lets sneak in." I said as I dragged her inside.
We made it inside and snuck around.
"Hey, what're you two doin' in my gym?" A man asked.
"Uh, We were just looking for a bathroom and got lost." Korra said with a smile.
"Ah, the old "I had to pee" excuse! You know, I'm sick and tired of you kids sneakin' in without payin'! I'm taking you to security!" The man snapped.
"No, wait!" I exclaimed.
