Chapter 8 (Courtney)
“That bitch was sick when I told her I was pregnant. Did you see her face?” I said excitedly to my sister Camilla. “She didn’t look like she cared to me,” Camilla replied. “Oh, she was definitely in her feelings.” I said, laughing. She tried to play it off, but I could see the hurt all in Beyonce's face. I didn’t understand how she could possibly be upset about me having a baby with my own damn husband. I was happy that she could finally feel some of the pain that her and Jay inflicted on me. She may have moved on, but she still had feelings for Jay, that much was obvious. I can’t lie though, some of her comments hit below the belt, mostly, because they were true. There was no denying that Jay was in love with her at one point. I just hoped that their time apart was long enough for him to see that it was really over between them. “Take me to the store before you drop me off at home. I want some ice cream,” I told Camilla. She gave me the side eye and I just knew something slick was about to come out of her mouth. “Bitch you already getting fat as fuck. You keep on and Jay and nobody else gone want you,” she said, stopping at a red light. “Bitch I’m pregnant. You act like I’m gaining weight just because and Jay ain’t going nowhere please believe that!” I snapped. “Whatever, I know you saw how that youngster had his ass gone before. Don’t think for a second that her pretty face and nice shape ain’t have nothing to do with it. Having his babies ain’t enough no more. You better step your game up,” she said. She was forever saying something stupid and I was sick of hearing her mouth. She should have been happy that I was even speaking to her ass after the shit she pulled with Jay a few months ago. “You know what? Just take me home and I’ll get my own car and go where I need to go myself!” I said with much attitude. We rode in silence for the duration of the trip. I really felt some kind of way about her trying to put me down for Beyonce. It’s like she wanted Jay to be with somebody else. I always knew she was a hater so that didn’t surprise me one bit. I got out of her car and slammed the door behind me without uttering so much as a goodbye.
