Diana
I was in bed once I came home that night with a busted nose and concussion I was told to take it easy which drove me mad. I still went to work but once I came home Jimmy made me stay in bed and took care of both of us. I did discover Jimmy had a natural talent for inventing things like the remote control fridge so I figured if we needed money he could sell some of those inventions patented we'd be rich. We were getting ready to go to the auction in Davenport, Maine which was a city of about 2000 people similar to where we are now. We discussed purchasing a plot of land and building our own home was perfect I had family and friends that could help us build. I found a decent dress that fit somewhat but I could tell I was pregnant by now it was a subtle curve, "You look beautiful." Jimmy comes up beside me kissing my neck , "You start that we wont leave this house... Maybe this room." I giggle. To try and distract us I tried fixing his tie he looked ready to pop so obvious that the black suit wasn't hiding it anymore. Once I was finished messing with his tie his hands wandering to a few places in the tight medium length ruby dress. I decided to drive this time so in the case that we got into another crash I could control if we live or not. "This fucking suit is so uncomfortable. I wonder if this is how snakes feel when they shed." Jimmy adds adjusting his shirt. "I'm still having some doubts about this, babe. I don't know I still say we do my idea... Its easier, its safer and well I love you." Jimmy continues to glance out the window he's getting hormonal I could feel the tension growing. "Why are you so calm about this, Ana? You're giving up a baby for a freak of a fucking husband... I wont let you do it. We'll just move and wipe our family off the grid... It will take some time but with my father's bonds, my retirement and your assets we can support us. All of us we lost our first chance at normal a few years ago when you miscarried but we are given a chance... A chance we wont have ever again. We're moving to Maine and we will give birth at the home..." I stop the car mid drive causing him to shake and fall forward. "How are we going to give birth, James? Sounds like you didn't think the most important thing through. We'll have to deliver in a hospital or were gonna have to have a midwife." I say thinking it over. "I don't want them stealing these twins, Diana I'm sure you agree. They're one of a kind; our individual us. If we give birth at any hospital they're going to snitch and who knows... They may kill us to get our babies." James tears over so do I. I put his hand on top of mine, "Alright, babe if were gonna have a midwife were going to need to pack some things by the weekend." He kisses my cheek. I pulled in for a full passionate kiss. "Lets go start a new life." I mumble as our noses touch he smiles at me. After driving an hour I decided we should stop for fuel but because we needed a bathroom and I was starving. I was already 12 weeks pregnant barely showing it just sucked having to drive sometimes I got carsick kind of like now. I ran out Of the car in a hurry to throw up beside the gas tank. Jimmy gets out stretching he walks up behind me, "You going to be ok? I can drive the next half hour if you want." I shrug, "Yeah that's fine I guess. Boy I feel better, I'm hungry." Jimmy chuckles wrapping his arm around my shoulder. We walk into a small diner there really isn't anyone in there. Maybe one couple or a straggler we sit near the door in case I get a bad feeling. I knew Jimmy got that feeling too his hormonal possibly paranoid but we needed to be on guard. We were serious about leaving Philly before it got worse than quarantine; we would hide as long as it took to the rest of our lives. A waitress comes up to us as I'm going over thoughts and James is looking on the map, "What can I get you guys to drink?" Jimmy shrugs, "Do you have any orange soda?" She nods, "Add vanilla ice cream to that please." The waitress writes it down dumbfounded, "You ma'am?"
"Make that two." I say she walks off leaving me to my thoughts again. "If we take 199 we'll get there five minutes early I mean I'm not in a rush but I'm curious to see an estimate." I nod browsing through the menu, "I'm craving a burger." I think aloud Jimmy chuckles, "A burger with egg over easy, avocado and mayo." I gag, "I fucking hate eggs. This baby... I mean... Lavinia hates eggs." Jimmy noticed I paused for a moment in between sentences, "You paused there I caught that for a few seconds you didn't wanna say anything. I'm scared for us too, Diana but don't worry were protected. I promise."
