Picture a beautiful coastline landscape with a slightly intense mountain range in the background.

Now add beautiful summer weather and only a few clouds stained on the perfect solid blue canvas we call the sky.

Now zoom in a little and picture a luxurious beach side house with seemingly endless acres of coastline at its base.

Now zoom in a little more and notice the gorgeous brown skin girl with curly hair laying comfortably on her towel reading a book only her spaced out mentality could possibly understand.

From her eyes to her smile to her body that could distract you for days on end, she’s just perfect. In my eyes at least.

Now picture an older woman, probably her mom, strolling out this beachfront mansion to hand her an envelope with nothing but a name on. My name. Carlos.

At this point, if you can see where I’m going,  you’d probably guess that she’s about to open some mushy love letter from her boyfriend about his feelings or something, and you would be one hundred percent correct.

“From Carlos

To Rose

Dear Rose

There’s something I want you to know…

Last night something happened regarding my dad’s past. Let’s just say it caught up with him faster than we could’ve imagined. Unfortunately it got to me too. We had to leave the country and the chances are, we aren’t coming back. I can’t say much more about the circumstances we’re currently in but I am safe, better off than I used to be actually. I hope the kids are alright with you guys. This might be a lot for your mom so give her a chance to process everything when you tell her.

Tell them we’re alright.

Rose, I love you.
I care about you too and that means I can't stop you from moving on one day and finding someone else better than me.

Someone that’s there for you. I hope when you do meet him, he buys you your favorite flowers, he takes you out dancing whenever you want and he gives you all his love and affection because you deserve nothing less.

You are my world and I am the only inhabitant.

I have to leave my world behind now.

Hopefully one day. Maybe, just maybe, we could meet again.
Regards, Carlos."
