3 Os to 4 Xes.

"What?!" Leorio yelled while looking at his other team members-- us-- the same way he looked at Gon and I the first time we met.

Basically like we were complete incompetents.

"Everyone knows you should always go left when in doubt! How come three of you chose right?!"

Siper crossed her arms on her chest. "That's exactly why chose right, because everyone always choses left."

Killua stared me up and down without warning for a moment. I felt uncomfortable and looked away.

Leorio glared at Tonpa accusingly but this time, I knew it wasn't him.

"What're you glaring at him for?" Killua said in a monotone voice. "The two other people were Bella and I." He held his thumb out towards me.

My eyes widened. "How'd you know it was me??"

He started walking towards the door we had opened carelessly, his hands where they belonged: his faithful pockets.

"Your body language."

I was surprised.

This guy can always read me like an open book... It's almost scary.

We followed the boy silently down the tunnel. It brought us into a huge square room with a square platform in the center. Around the platform were empty voids that seemed to go down the entire height of the tower.

Across from us was another tunnel with seven dark figures in it.

On the square platform was a big screen with what looked like points attributed to each side, like you would see at a sport match to indicate the scores.

We had 50 to 50 points so far.

A showdown? A battle? What is this?

One of the figures stepped to the light and took off its black hood to reveal a tall, tan and very muscular man with scars all around his bald scalp.

Saying he was intimidating was an understatement.

He looks... Military, maybe?

"You guys finally made it." He said with a chuckle.

He gave us an amused smile. "Every single person in front of you is a condemned criminal hired by the exam committee to be your examiners for this part of the third phase."

We all payed very close attention, realizing he was informing us of the rules.

"For every hour you spend here, 10 years will be taken off of our jail sentences. The more points you get, the faster you will get out of here. We each chose which test we will put you through. You have to respect every rule the examiner gives you and each of you has to pass. Unless, of course, you give up."

He said that last sentence as an afterthought.

"In that case, we win the round by default. The same goes for if one of us concedes defeat.

I looked at the others to make sure everyone was paying attention. They all seemed to have understood except for Gon...

His face was beet red in desperate frustration and I could almost see smoke coming out of his ears.

"Don't start overheating, Gon!" I warned. "Now's really not the time."

"He does that often?" Killua asked with a giggle. I chuckle and nodded. "Whenever he can't figure something out."
