"How long?" I asked Killua.
He sighed and looked at his watch like he had been doing every five minutes now since I've started asking him. "Twenty-five minutes."
I frowned. Twenty-five minutes since we got here. Five more, and he'll be disqualified...
Many contestants are already here. Including Leorio and Kurapika.
Where the hell are you, Gon?!
I looked at the magenta haired magician. "You should lay him down, now." I said, pointing at Leorio. "He's already bound to be lightheaded when he wakes up."
The magician, Hisoka, apparently, shrugged and took the unconscious overgrown teenager off his shoulder and layed him down on the ground.
"IN THE SHADE, SMARTASS! LAST THING WE WANT IS LEORIO COMPLAINING ABOUT A SUNBURN!" I yelled.
"Now, now..." The magi-- I mean, Hisoka said with his soothing voice, trying to calm me down. "No need to yell at me. I'm not the reason your little friend hasn't returned."
His supposedly soothing tone just aggravated me even more. "Except, you are!" I accused. "If it weren't for you trying to kill Leorio and Kurapika, Gon would be back already!" I crossed my arms on my chest and started pacing nervously.
Where the hell are you, Gon?! What is taking you so long?!
"What's wrong with her..?" Kurapika whispered to Killua, probably thinking I couldn't hear him. The white haired boy sighed again. "She's worried about Gon so she's taking her impatience out on us." He explained.
For someone who's known me for half a day, I'd say he's pretty good at interpreting my emotions.
"Well damn!" A contestant yelled, rubbing his bald scalp. The one next to him rolled his yes. "Yeah, why don't you just go look for him and save us your nasty attitude if you're so worried...?" He asked while tightening his manbun.
I sent him a death glare but decided not to reply. This jerk definitly wasn't gonna last long anyway. I had heard him complain about pretty much everything and making fun of others like he's above them ever since we had started the exam.
To be honest, it was already impressive he had even made it this far.
"She simply can't." Mr Satotz replied in my defence. "If any of you are to leave after completing the first phase, you'd be immediately disqualified."
The manbun guy chuckled and looked at me with an expression that oozed of mockery. "Looks like he doesn't mean that much to you after all. If you're not even willing to fail the exam to make sure he's safe."
You're not gonna get me with reversed psychology, you waste of hair.
"Tss, Moron."
I turned at Killua, kind of surprised by his comment. "If she leaves and finds out Gon was fine all along, her disqualification would have been pointless. So all she can do is wait for him and hope he'll be fine."
Thank you. Finally someone who gets it.
I smiled and mouthed a "thank you" in his direction. He smiled and nodded.
Right then, we heard heavy footsteps comming our way. I immediately stopped pacing and turned in their direction. He was a little hard to distinguish, having his outfit match the green leaves of the forest trees, but there he was.
"GON!!!" I yelled and started waving obnoxiously. I hadn't been this happy to see him run back towards me since that time at Whale Island harbour when he caught a master of the swamp.
