Time for payback.
I glance at the front door and see Madison, Sean and Daniel walking in with there parents. No one except me and Andrew seemed to notice that my cup had fallen so i quickly pick it up from the table..
- I think Andrew just peed his pants.
I say.
I flash a quick evil grin at Andrew before turning to everyone else to make sure they heard.
- I didn't, I swear guys, a cup fell and the water went on my pants, cant you guys see the water there.
- I sure can, but if that's true why are you panicking so much?
I know its childish but this is the only thing I could think of, and it's working.
Pretending not to have heard anything, all the other guests come and sit at the table, and of course, Madison hurriedly sits next to Andrew and Dan sits next to me while Sean sits next to him.
- Andrew, aren't you going to clean your urine? its all over the floor too.
i continue, pushing the subject, just like he did with Conner.
- ITS WATER AND YOU KNOW IT.
- yeah sure, but is it really?
- just stop it! you know it is!
- I know it as well as you know i hate Conner...
- oh so that's what this is about?
- Maybe.
Everyone is looking at us now, like always, we forget about everything around us and just spit stupid comebacks at each other.
- then you just admitted you lied about thinking about me peeing my pants!
- if its not true why does it matter so much?
At this point our parents already know what to do, its not the first time we end up shouting at each other in a public space. Andrews dad, Richard, stands up and in a stern voice says:
- come on you to! your acting like baby's again!
- grow up!! you cant keep on arguing like this over nothing!
my mother agrees
- you guys need to go and scream your lungs out somewhere else, come back when you've made up.
I can't believe this is happening... again.
Andrew and i slowly get up and leave the table with annoyed faces. No one is surprised anymore, this happens more often then not, actually its much better now then before.
we leave through the front door and start walking towards a random direction.
- thank you so much for not letting me eat dinner in peace.
He says
- oh, get over yourself dickhead. if you spent less time annoying me and more time trying not to pee your pants this would not have happened.
- ok, ok i get it, i won't bother you with Conner again. Tonight. And you didn't have to throw water at my pants!
- i didn't throw anything, the cup fell, and i wanted to embarrass you as payback.
- then how did the water go directly on my direction??
- look i don't know, that was a coincidence.
we continue nagging each other until we reach the edge of downtown.
- i think we should go back, we've already been gone long enough.
i say.
- nah, let's at least walk to the river. i kind of miss it, we don't come here often.
- ok sure. i kind of miss the river too...
we walk in silence for a bit, i wish he would just shut up more often, or at least not only open his mouth to pester me. i turn to look at him, his caramel colored skin and his dark brown hair look really nice under the moonlight.
- what?
He says looking at me with his green eyes.
- nothing
His pretty, ill give him that.
the closer we get to the lake, the emptier the streets become, not many people come here.
At some point of the way there aren't even any lights, just miles of grass and a river, on the other side of the river there is a really big forest, but I've never been there. the forest is out of question, even tho we have been swimming in the river. that's the rule, we can go wherever we want except the forest.
We get closer to the edge of the river and sit on the grass.
- I think sometimes i like the lake better than the beach at night.
i don't answer him, i know that if i do we might start a debate and end up shouting at each other again.
The only source of light is the moon, and when i look up at the stars it feels like i can see the whole galaxy.
I look to the side and i see Andrew dropping his hands in the water he gets a hand full of water and mischievously smiles at me, i quickly close my eyes, I know whats coming next, except the water never hits me, i slowly open my eyes, maybe he wasn't going to throw it at me after all.
In front of me i see Andrew with the most shocked face I've ever seen. his looking up, and so do i, and there it is, the water that he must have intended to throw at me is just there, just kind of floating.
There is a weird feeling on my palms again and when i look down i see the marks have come back.
- can you see that too?
Andrew uncertainly whispers.
- I think i can...
- did... did you do that?
- I. no, no way.
