"Wait!" I hissed, causing the two brothers to look over at me.
"Take me with you. I can help,"
"What can a girl do to help us?" Thor said, and I rolled my eyes.
"This girl was raised on Harudheen. I know it better than either of you, and I know how Malekith thinks,"
"You don't know we're going to...what did you call it?"
"Harudheen. And besides, I overheard the guards talking about some Midgardian woman getting infected with something or another and being brought here. You want to cure her, and you're going to bring her to Malekith to do it,"
"Very well. But if you betray me--" he started.
"You'll kill me? Yeah, I heard your whole spiel earlier,"
-
"This is so unlike you, Brother. So clandestine. Are you sure you wouldn't rather just punch your way out?" God, it felt so good to be able to stretch my legs and have a change of scenery from the same four old walls I had spent 817 days staring at.
"If you keep speaking, I just might," Thor warned.
"Fine. As you wish. We're not even here," a green shimmer covered my body, and suddenly I was in armor and had a spear. I could almost laugh at the irony. Two escaped prisoners posing as the very people tasked with keeping them in their cells.
"Is this better?" He asked.
"Better company at least," Thor said, but I was too excited to care at the slight jab.
I mean, I was strolling through Asgard's palace as a free woman. How could I not be excited?
"Still, we could be less conspicuous," Loki turned back into himself, Thor turned into a woman, and I turned invisible.
"Mm, Brother. You look ravishing," that sounds wrong on so many levels.
"It will hurt no less when I kill you in this form?" I held back my laugh, a grin spreading across my face.
"Very well. Perhaps you would prefer some of your new companions, given that you seem to like them so much,"
I glanced down, seeing that I was dressed in a black bodysuit with the front partially unzipped and a utility belt around my waist.
"Who the hell have you turned me into?" I exclaimed.
"Oh, this is much better. Ooh. The costume's a bit much. So tight! But the confidence--I can feel the righteousness surging. Hey! Wanna have a rousing discussion about truth, honor, patriotism? Gold bless Amer--" Thor shoved Loki into a pillar, covering his mouth while grabbing my wrist and yanking me over.
"What?" Two Einherjar passed by as we looked over, going out of view as they passed behind a pillar.
"You could at least furnish me with a weapon. My dagger, something," he made an expression that looked strange, yet oddly welcome, on his face.
Thor sighed, pulling something out of his pocket.
"At last. A little common sense..." I looked down, feeling cold metal to see complex handcuffs winding their way around my wrists.
"And I thought you liked tricks," Thor said with a chuckle.
-
Two women approached one in armor and the other in some sort of robe.
"You're--" The robed woman said, pointing at Loki.
"Loki. You may have--" A ripe crack echoed through the air as she slapped him hard across the face, making me smirk.
"That was for New York," she said.
"I like her," Loki and I said at the same time, glancing at each other momentarily.
"What of the Allfather?" Guards starting to approach from the stairs.
"I'll hold them off. Take her,"
"Thank you," Thor and the girl disappeared, the woman pulling out her sword and holding it to our throats.
"Betray him, and I will kill you," she warned, and Loki chuckled.
"It's good to see you too, Sif,"
-
We approached a crashed Dark Elf ship, where a man with a large beard was waiting.
"I don't remember you mentioning her in the plan," he said.
"We had to improvise a little," Thor admitted.
"I will hold them off as long as I can," he said.
"Thank you, my friend," Loki and I were, again, stopped by an extended hand.
"If you even think about betraying him--"
"You'll...kill us? Evidently, there will be a line,"
a/n I swear I'll go to bed after this update. I don't feel like writing a fight scene a little past 11 PM anyway.
