It's been a few days since that godawful fight broke out, Sarah has gone back home, wanting to be with Wheezie. We assured her she could come back anytime to stay with us, the doors are always open for her. Rafe has seemed even happier now, like an underlying weight of his fathers control has finally left him, I felt better as well, not feeling this lingering doom over our heads, for now at least. "Ma'am?" The customer caught my attention, I turned from the display bar that I was stocking up. "Yes, what can I get for you?" I asked with a smile, "a round of beers for me and my buddies." He motioned to a table, I scanned it over, counting how many people were over there, I froze, those familiar eyes staring me down, Grant. Fucking fantastic, I just can't escape this guy. "Sure thing." I turned back to the customer, "I'll have them right out." I assured him, he slipped me my tip, going back to the table. I put the money in my pocket, sighing as I grabbed eight bottles of beer, balancing them on a tray. "Here you go." I put on my customer service voice as I walked up to the table, of course the only opening was next to Grant. "Excuse me, sweetheart, could I get an orange slice for this?" He asked, his hand squeezing the back of my thigh, just barely under my ass, it took so much for me to not snap at him, I backed out of his hold. "Of course." I practically ran back to the kitchen, pulling the orange slices out, putting a couple on a small plate. On the way back to the table I began to wonder what he was doing with these rich guys, he wasn't even dressed like he should be here. I put the plate down with a fake smile, walking away I glanced down and saw a little baggy sticking out of a guys pocket, ah, that makes more sense. He's selling to the richies, never has to worry about them being broke.

"Hey, Kie." I sighed, throwing myself back on her bed, I had the early shift today so I came to hang out with her since Rafe works for a few more hours at least. My stomach turned at a certain smell, "what's that smell?" I asked her as she walked out from the bathroom, "what smell?" She raised an eyebrow, pulling her hair from the towel, she had just taken a shower. "You don't smell it? It smell's horrible." I scrunched my face up in disgust, "I don't smell anything." She confirmed, sniffing the air. She gave me an odd look, but we both decided to brush it off, it's probably nothing. "So, are you excited for the fair, only two more weeks!" Kie jumped up and down, we've done this weekend girls trip every year since I turned sixteen, this year Sarah was going too, we were ecstatic. "So excited!" I sat up abruptly, "it's going to be so much fun, I heard the ferris wheel is going to be back this year." I grinned, the ferris wheel, our favorite part of the night, we always make sure to do it last, so you can see how pretty all the lights are. The fair is on the mainland, so we go on a Saturday morning and come back the next day. "Oh, that's perfect." She mumbled, writing something down in a book on her desk, I cocked a brow at her, "what's that?" I asked, standing up, she slammed it shut quickly. "Nothing." She rushed, "Kie." I pried, "no, Charli. I can't tell you, believe me you're going to want the surprise." She slipped up slightly, "surprise?" I questioned, crossing my arms over my chest, realizing she wasn't going to tell me anything else. "So dramatic." She laughed at me as I fake pouted, sitting back on her bed like a little kid.

"Hey, baby." Rafe tensed under my touch, I almost never greeted him like this when he walks in the door, all sweaty and dirty from work. "Yeah?" He asked, wrapping his arms around my waist. "Do you know if Kie's planning anything? She said something about a surprise today?" I asked, twirling the ends of his hair, "hmm, no, she hasn't mentioned anything to me." If he was lying I couldn't tell, "okay, then go shower." I practically threw myself off of him, he rolled his eyes. "You're so dramatic." He mumbled, walking into the bathroom. I shrugged it off, wandering into the kitchen, trying to find something to eat, I was craving something particular but I couldn't quite place it. I settled on just munching on an apple, deciding I should eat something healthy. I played on my phone as I waited for Rafe to finish up, feeling like forever and a day until he walked out. I got a period reminder, gotta love those apps, I deleted the notification, no wonder I've been so sensitive today. That made sense.

"So, what are you going to do without me for a whole weekend?" I asked, referring to the fair that was coming up, "probably go insane." Rafe joked, over dramatically grabbing his heart. "Wow, I'll miss you too." I lightly punched his arm, a smile on my face. "I'm serious, I might go insane." He added in seriousness, "aw, babe." I cooed, he rolled his eyes. "You're going to be having too much fun to even miss me." He pulled me into his side, pressing a kiss to my head as we watched the tv, "I will never not miss you." I assured him, giving his leg a squeeze. We spent the rest of the night like this, most of our days consisted of this, unless we were going out with our friends, we were usually at home doing something. It was nice, just being able to be around each other in this soft silence.
