It had been a pretty uneventful day, more like uneventful week, but honestly Jacob preferred that over any other day of his boyfriend getting annoyed at him.
He also hadn't had the chance to go to the museum since his homework assignments were beginning to pile up. It was the end of the semester and end of the entire school year so his classes gave him so much to work on, including studying for the final exams. 'Stressed out' was an understatement for Jacob.
"Jacob?" His boyfriend called out to him, entering the front door to the apartment.
His boyfriend found Jacob sat at the kitchen table attempting to read as much as he could about why certain key signatures were ideal for what type of music.
"Studying?" Jacob hums in response. "Do you mind if I distract you for a moment? I have something to talk about." Jacob gladly pushed his textbook to the side and gave his boyfriend his undivided attention.
"So, I got the job," the other blurts out.
Jacob glanced at the other in confusion. He didn't remember his boyfriend mentioning another job.
"That's great, babe. What are you going to be doing?" Jacob tries keep appealing to him, hoping to drag out this good mood. It didn't seem to work too much because the other sent Jacob an eye roll.
"Did you seriously forget? I already told you what it was. I'm going to be a marketing manager at the top of my company! Can't you pay attention more to what I say? I hate repeating myself." His boyfriend scuffs before turning around to leave the room. He didn't get very far as he turns around, seeming to have forgotten something.
"Oh, and my job requires that we move. We're going to move to South Korea. It'll be better so I can take care of my parents, as well. Get ready to leave in a week." After that, he walks out, leaving Jacob stunned from the information he just heard.
A week? He still had school to finish. His family was here. Even if they didn't keep in touch with him, he would still hope to be there in case anything happens. This was a huge step. Jacob understood the language, he didn't feel like that would hinder him, but rather the fact that this was an entirely different country! He didn't know anyone there. It was scary for him.
Jacob was beyond frustrated and felt lost. His first thought of what to do, was to tell Kevin. He didn't want the other to feel like his new friend abandoned him after the two move out of the country. Would Kevin miss him? Would he want to keep in touch still?
Another thought arose in his mind. Why was he so worried about what the other thought about this situation? They were friends, that was pretty obvious at this point, but they only just recently met a couple of months ago. Would the other be that bothered about Jacob leaving? Jacob couldn't think properly. The news was sprung onto him so quickly.
Ditching his studying for a moment, Jacob grabs his jacket near the front door and heads out for a walk. He avoided blowing up at his boyfriend by taking walks to clear his head. Even though he hated that his boyfriend blew up at him a lot, Jacob didn't want to do that to the other, it wouldn't be fair.
There was no direction that the boy wanted to go in, but his feet seemed to know where they were going. As long as he was away from his house for the moment, then he would be good.
The way his thoughts swirled into his head made Jacob feel dizzy because they were all trying to take the center stage at once. He just wanted to have things be clear for him and to not feel overwhelmed and sad all the time.
Would Kevin make him feel this way? That thought seemed to pop a lot. It confused Jacob because he thought he was comfortable with this relationship, but then Kevin showed up and made him feel happy for once. It was like every time they were in each other's presence, they seemed to make the other feel better after a hard day. They could rely on each other for advice and they always felt comfortable when they were together.
A happy feeling fills Jacob and a smile grows on his face. What if it was him and Kevin dating instead? Jacob quickly shakes that thought out of his head as he realizes what he's thinking about. This was wrong, even though his boyfriend wasn't the best to him, he was still in a committed relationship.
"Jacob?"
The boy's head whips forward so fast, as a familiar figure approaches him. A smile grows on his face again without him thinking about it.
There was Kevin, walking towards him, looking really handsome for some reason. The smile that held on his face flowed so bright and gave a funny feeling in Jacob's stomach. He could feel his stress leaving him temporarily and his mood lightened already, just from seeing the older. He didn't even realize until now how much Kevin had an effect on him.
"Funny running into you here," Kevin laughs as he stops in front of the older. "Taking a walk?" He asks, and Jacob nods immediately. When Kevin asks to join him, the older wastes no time in accepting his offer. He wanted to spend as much time as he could with the other before he had to move.
"Kevin, I have some bad news."
