"You and Ashton?"
"You would have told me to stop." I whispered gently.
"Too fucking right I would have told you to stop." Michael grumbled. "He fucks everything that moves; I told you that."
"You said that about everyone." I pointed out and he glowered at me.
"That's why you went home? I thought your mother was ill again." He practically shouted at me.
"Nope." I threw my bag on a chair. This is not the way I thought he'd react. Michael sighed and sat down on the bed.
"What did he do?" There was a gentler note to his voice now that made me relax slightly. I walked over to him and sat down beside. "Did he hurt you?" The protectiveness in his tone gave me a sudden lift. How do I answer that question? Physically he didn't hurt me but mentally and emotionally he broke me.
"Depends on what you mean." I mumbled looking down at my hands. Instantly he jumped up.
"I'm going to kill him." Okay this was the reaction I'd expected but I still couldn't let him do what he wanted.
"Michael, don't." I reached up and grabbed his arm.
"I fucking warned him not to touch you." Michael tried to pull his arm from my grasp but I kept a strong hold.
"Seriously, Mike I'm too tired." I changed my tone to pleading and attempted to drag him back to the bed. I watched as his shoulders sagged in defeat.
"You want to sleep?" He asked softly and I nodded in reply. "Fine. You can sleep but you have to promise to tell me what he did or I will kill him." Michael raised an eyebrow. Shit. Well at least I get my sleep first.
He walked to the conjoin door to his room and flung it open.
"Stay with me?" I called after his retreating body. It wasn't long until his shirtless form was back.
"You think I'd leave my best girl to sleep alone." He teased as he crawled under the covers beside me.
"Whoa best girl?" I fake-gasped. "Only girl."
He chucked lightly and ruffled my hair. "Of course."
I smiled and snuggled up to his chest. The gentle rise and fall of his body chilled my whole atmosphere and I felt the much needed sleep take over me.A loud knock shook me from my dream and I snapped awake. I could feel Michael's eyes on me as I realised someone was knocking on my hotel room door at 3am.
"It's him, isn't it?" His tone was cold as he held me close. We both knew the answer to that question.
"I'll get it." I reach to push the blanket off us both but he kept ahold.
Michael sighed and climbed out of the bed. I flung my head against the pillow in frustration. This was going to be one shit conversation. I didn't see the door open but I heard Ashton attempt to enter the room. I heard Michael scoff and growl in his scariest voice. "What the fuck are you doing knocking on my girl's door at 3am?"
He called me his girl. He's trying to screw with Ashton without using violence. Jesus Christ I love my best friend.
I didn't hear exactly what Ashton replied but I'm sure the mumble was some sort of protestation.
"Ohhhh you thought it was my room?" The sarcasm dripped from his voice like liquid. There was a another mutter and Michael laughed awkwardly. I bet he was having a great time; it's not often he gets one over Ashton.
"So you were going to wake me up at 3am to ask what i wanted for breakfast?" I almost burst out laughing at his excuse. "What do you want, babe?" Michael called to me with a dry chuckle.
"Toast sounds lovely." I put on my sleepiest voice to prove that I had been sleeping.
"Awh my baby girl is all sleepy and needs me." Michael smirked. "G'night, Ash." The door slammed and I couldn't help but giggle.
"I can't believe you just did that."
"It was either that or slam my fist into his face and trust me the latter would have been much more satisfying." A dark cloud came over his face.
"Well I'm very grateful." I squeezed his hand as he crawled back into bed.
"Seriously anytime, babe." He whispered, pulling me onto his chest. "You're my best friend."
"And that makes me very glad."
We lay there in silence until I'm sure Michael was asleep. A tear rolled down my cheek knowing just how much this guy would do for me.(Omg the reads on the fic are going up like crazy 😱 thank you guys! Vote or something though. 😊😘)
