"I love you too," She said, a bit weak with a harsh voice. That had to be some of the best sleep in her life, but it was a bit contradicting. Where has she been and why did this room smell so horrible? Like unwatered and old flowers? Her movement had been limited, but she craned her neck to look around the room. A hospital room covered in flowers, no wonder it stunk so bad. The TV had been on the sports channel, something that she couldn't personally stand. Her eyes looked down, looking to the male that had been on her lap. His waves were swimming and he seemed to be dozed off. She knew that with his breathing pattern and the grip that he had on her hand, it was no other than Sajaír James. She heard him often in her dreams, constantly and more than others. Sometimes she would hear loud gatherings, but she was unable to see. She saw her mother, sometimes, too.
She moved her arm uncomfortable, trying to slither from underneath him when she noticed that his breathing had halted completely. He raised his head slowly before Maya prepared her face. A mirror had been on the stand next to her bed and she realized that her famous twists had been removed from her head. She was all natural. "I'm not dreaming, am I?" She heard Sajaír whisper, his voice soft and almost hesitant. Maya turned back to him before she shook her head. She chuckled for a moment, before speaking, "If I could move, I'd smack the shit out of you to make you believe me. However, I'm a little stiff-" Sajaír had stood, connecting his warm and soft lips with hers. She could taste a little salt, signaling that he had been crying. She didn't know how to feel, she just knew she felt warm and for the first time, loved. He said no more words before running out of the room, leaving the door wide open. "She's up!" He screamed all the way down the hall until she couldn't hear him anymore.
Maya giggled as the people she considered her family barged into the room. There was a collective gasp and honestly, she felt uncomfortable. All the attention on her? She'd pass. She cleared her throat before looking to Jasmyn, who looked a bit different than before. She looked to her stomach, realizing the small bulge that was there before had been gone. Maya remembered the shooting like it was yesterday, hell, she felt like it was yesterday. "How long have I been out?" She asked softly as the room became quiet. Her brother became overwhelmed, dropping his body on hers with tears in his eyes. She raised her hand slowly, knocking the stiffness out of body as she hugged him back. Reign answered her, "6 months, sis. It's a whole new year." He said.
Maya had a shocked expression at her face, but it died after a while. The Doctor came into the room, rocking Crenshaw Hospital paraphernalia. She hadn't gone back to New York? She was missing her classes, education, rent was probably behind. "Good afternoon and welcome back, I should say." Dr. Phillips said. Maya nodded her head and he requested that everyone leave the room. He ran through the two surgeries that she went through to remove the bullets from her body, explained side affects of her coma and examined her. "You seem fine and able to be released, but I need you to take it as slow as you can. There's no rush." He said before scribbling on his board. He went to tally the glass across from her bed before exiting the room. Her people came back in and she smiled.
"He said that I should be good to be discharged," Maya said, sitting back comfortably. Whoa, she became dizzy. Sajaír came to assist her and her stomach growled, causing everyone in the room to laugh. "SJ got all these damn flowers in the room, stinking the entire fucking place up." Cree said as they started to pack up. The men were helping Maya stand to her feet and get prepared while the females cleaned and left it as spotless as possible. Nicholas ordered a SUV to pick up the entourage up, which would be there in 30 minutes.
Maya reflected the entire time in the car, wearing the same clothes that she had got shot in, but they were much cleaner. They drove through the memorial, which was fixed and intact like it was never destroyed. "I got a question," She said, sitting in the third row out of four. "Did they find who shot us?" She said. The car became a bit quiet, but Nicholas took the responsibility of explaining that it was a random hit man looking for a come up under the instruction of his father. Maya felt her blood boil and she felt rage, but she shut the hell up. "He gone get his," was all she said. Sajaír had invited everyone back to this place, which most of the time they were there anyway.
Maya giggled as Sajaír swooped her off his feet and up the three stair condo that he rented in Downtown LA. It was nice, she had to admit. Everyone was situated in the living room while they moved to his room for a little personal discussion. She broke from their kiss, hands on his pecks which had. . Yeah, he was working out. "Sajaír, I don't want us to be complicated like we were before. I can't count the amount of times I heard you say you love me and how much I said it back. I don't want to rush, but I want to be yours." She said, sitting on the bed and looking to him. He looked so good, she could eat him.
"Maya, I will never waste another minute or second denying what we have. I won't let family drama come between us. I promise I'll take care of you for life, if you allow me," He said with a laugh. She leaned forward to kiss him, giving him a bit of tongue action before someone knocked at their door. Sajaír rolled his eyes, in the back of his head admitting that he needed pussy more than ever. He held out, not bothering to even look at another female. Maya stood and followed him to the door, closely behind him before he pulled it open. It was Charlene, his father's wife. He mugged her before rudely asking, "What the fuck you want?"

"Your help," She said.
