I'm not giving up on y'all. Don't give up on me. We gotta push through.
It had been a week and a half since Lani had seen her older sister. Perhaps that was because she was ducking and diving from most people since her kiss with Ryan. Jaden had been blowing her phone up trying to see her on the side, but for no one she bulged. While she had been hiding, she tried to bring her best friend into hiding but she had been doing some hiding herself. Her social media names had changed as well as the privacy on her account. It was a brand new week and school was resuming since the miniature break from the shooting in the gym. Kamari had given Lani permission to drive her car to school seeing as she was in bed not feeling all that well. Lani tossed her backpack in the passenger seat, realizing that her phone had gone off.

Lani typed back, seeing as Ryan had texted her so much over the week. What could she say? She couldn't admit to anyone in her diary that she actually enjoyed the feeling of Ryan's lips, nor could she admit that she wished the kiss was longer. She was sure that her family would be accepting seeing as her older brother had been gay, but it was something that she couldn't accept. She deleted the message that she had typed, shaking her head clear before she formed a response that seemed acceptable in her eyes.
To Maybe: Ryan 🤍,
I haven't been avoiding you. I have a life. You should get one too besides cheating on your girlfriend. delivered at 6:48 am.

Lani had already mentally blocked that girl out from her head, tossing her phone in the open area underneath the center console of the car and starting it. She used her Apple Carplay to activate her music to avoid her phone, turning off her notifications for text messages.

For the rest of the car ride and in the parking lot of Lani's school, so much had been on her mind. An entire week was she allowed to be selfish to herself that she realized she hadn't heard from her sister or her brother in law, were they okay? She would leave school early and drive over after, she mentally decided to herself. She turned the car off, tossing the keys in the cupholder area of her backpack and locking it with the handle of the car. The closer she got to the entrance, the more she recognized a physique that she had been avoiding.
"You trying to teach me a lesson or something?" Jaden said, grabbing her by the elbow and pulling her to the side where there had been a dark area near the entrance of the school. Roughly, she snatched her elbow from him and started to raise her voice until he made note of their surroundings. "I've been going through shit, Jaden. You have never made me a priority, why am I now one?" She asked with a hint of attitude in her voice. This, from weak Lani, was something new to Jaden. His first thought was - was there another nigga?
