The alarm clock going off was an alert that she needed to get head back on her shoulders. She removed herself from the hotel bed, smeared mascara underneath her eyes and stained tears at her cheeks. What had she been doing with her life? She had a son that she loved, she had friends that cared for her. Even despite —
"Pass me that medicine out the cabinet," He said, raising from the bed. She paused in her footsteps of gathering her clothes, dropping her belongings and going to the bathroom. There had been so many thoughts that had been running through her mind. How she would kill him, hide his body, make things easier for everyone — "Are you deaf or fucking dumb?" His voice boomed through the room. Amirah turned, returning to the hotel bed with the medicine and a glass of water.
She would wait it out like she was supposed to. She placed the pill in his lips, soon the glass of water afterwards. She kissed his forehead, rubbing her hands down his cheeks before. The man smiled back to her, reclining back against the hotel bed. He grabbed her hand in a comforting way, but she was wiser than that. "You been crying again?" He asked her. Amirah sniffed, rubbing her eyes and looking towards her phone. It was pushing 4 am and she had a flight to catch in a few hours.
"Bet not be. You signed up for this, otherwise that ugly fucking baby of yours wouldn't be as set as he is for the future," He spat, throwing her hand from his grasp. Amirah let the words rock her mentally and emotionally, but she was stronger than he ever knew. "Make sure that shit is arranged and you're there to pick her up. Give her the address and disappear, like I've trained you. Get out my sight." The man said and Amirah stood. He didn't have to tell her twice.
She grabbed her clothes, tossed them on and her keys to her rental car downstairs. The hotel door slammed and she slid against the wall, throwing her head back in agony. The feeling was so intense of being trapped that she just cried silently against the wall. She pulled out her cellphone, her hands shaking as she texted.
The hotel room door opened and she took off, ducking behind the ice machine before poking out. Of course, the man had been checking to see if she was gone, but she was still there. She deleted her text messages to Le'Maya and headed for the hotel with quick footsteps. She had a plane to catch. She could cry on the ride there.
