ZAISHA

I was drunk.

Completely drunk.

You can imagine how many drinks I would've needed to actually get drunk, seeing the capacity I have.

I felt so lightheaded.

I still couldn't get over the fact that I gave Abhishek Sharma his first shotgun kiss.

Touching my lips, I smiled.

Is this a dream or what?

Everyone was sprawled all over the place, some sleeping, some drinking and some eating.

Standing up from my spot, I made my way to my bedroom.

Walking straight seemed like a challenge now. Wow.

I turned the knob of my bedroom door, and entered the room. I tripped on something and was about to fall when a hand held my hand.

Standing straight, I looked at that person.

Abhay.

"Hi." I grinned at him.

"Hi." He chuckled.

"You need to sleep." He added quickly.

"That's why I came into my room." I stated the obvious.

He carefully made me sit on my bed and then sat beside me.

"Can I get a few pictures with you?" I asked.

"You don't have to ask, Aishi." He laughed.

He took out his phone and handed it over to me.

Drunk Aishi just went on clicking pictures.

"Okay, that's enough." Abhay chuckled, taking his phone back.

"I can't believe Abhishek Sharma is sitting right next to me." I said, dreamily.

"Well, he is." He smiled at me.

"I also can't believe I gave you your life's first shotgun kiss." I said, and started laughing.

He laughed along but stopped soon and just looked at me.

"What?" I asked, chuckling.

He said nothing and just continued staring.

"What?" I asked again, this time laughing.

"Your smile puts the city lights in shame." He smiled.

"Uhm.. thanks?" I laughed.

"You know, you're one of the rare ones. So effortlessly yourself, and the world loves you for who you are." He said, looking at me.

My laughter died down and I looked at him.

"You're that badass with a big heart." He continued.

"Don't get attached to me Mr. Sharma." I smiled.

"And why is that?" He asked me.

"I'm the kind of high, only a deep soul can get attached to."

He looked at me for a few seconds before saying, "Absolutely."

"Show me our pictures!" I whined, sitting cross-legged on the bed.

He unlocked his phone and handed it over to me.

We went through the pictures, laughing at each of them. I swiped left again, and was now seeing the Nandi sunrise picture.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" I asked Abhay.

"Very." He said, looking down at his phone screen.

"Sometimes, I think of the sun and the moon as lovers who rarely meet, always chase, and almost always miss one another. But once in a while they do catch up, and they kiss, and the world stares in awe of their eclipse." I said, staring at the picture.

I looked up to see him staring at me.

I stared into his eyes before saying, "Your eyes would be the reason, I'd drown one day."

He smiled.

"Even drunk, I'm caught off guard, by the way I remain intoxicated by you." I chuckled.

"You know Aishi, souls like you deserve to be loved." He said.

I laughed, shaking my head.

A comfortable silence enveloped us before I broke it.

"Let's get drunk together, so I can kiss you and blame it on the vodka." I said, chuckling.

"You're forever unexpected, and I think I'm drunk on that about you." He said, chuckling along.

"You're beautiful." He whispered, looking into my eyes.

"And, you're drunk." I laughed.

"Yes, I'm drunk, but you're beautiful. And, I'll be sober in a few hours, but you'll still be beautiful." He whispered.

I smiled at him.

"The only thing more incredible than your smile, is when you smile at me." He said.

"You know, only you can give me this feeling." I told him.

"What feeling?" He asked.

"This tingly feeling." I laughed, and he laughed along.

"Aishi."

I looked at him, smiling.

"Let's get drunk together, so I can kiss you and blame it on the vodka." He said, repeating my sentence.

"But we're already drunk." I laughed.

"So let me just kiss you and blame it on the vodka." He whispered, before leaning in.

I closed my eyes as his lips touched mine.

It was a slow kiss, yet had so many things to say. I had no idea about this foreign feeling in me.

Abhay slowly pulled away, and I opened my eyes to look at him.

"You know I won't remember things when I sober up." I whispered.

"It's okay." He smiled.

"Let's just be the sun and the moon." He added.

I gave him a confused look.

"You be the sun, and I'll be the moon. Just let your light come shining through; and when night comes, just like the moon, I'll shine the light right back to you." He whispered, looking into my eyes.
