"The mafia leader. He wants the girl," His voice growled grazing like gravel and sandpaper, giving me a wide grin that terrified me right to my core, all I could do was stand there helplessly as fear tingled down my spine.
Just when Lucas opened his mouth with a frightening look and was about to start talking Daniel burst through the door breathlessly, his expression panicked with wide eyes.
"Lucas they are all here we are way too outnumbered we have to go and we have to leave him here he will only slow us down, "
With an irritated look saying nothing more he nodded and the guys rushed out as did Hunter.
Lucas huffed stubbornly before giving in, he reached for my arm wrapping his fingertips around my hand, his hands were rough and demanding but it sent a buzzing up my arm and my heart jumped, and warmth spread through me, the thumping of my heart calmed and the darkness around us lifted.
How had just his touch stirred this feeling inside me? I couldn't be feeling like this, not now and not about a guy like this.
Don't be stupid Jess.
We followed them through the shrinking crowd of dancing people as they all grew tired as it got later and we slipped into the night leaving them all behind the air cooler as I gripped onto Lucas, my chest betting inside me.
When we got back Lucas caught Liam up and we found out that it was a planned ambush and that we barely missed them. You could cut the tension in the room with a knife as everyone fell silent. You could tell this wasn't the type of thing that happened often, that they were organised and ready, that this was a punch in the gut.
"Jess?" Someone tapped me on the shoulder snapping me out of the tension I had also been in. It was Liam. He pulled me to the side asking to speak to me for a moment.
"So um, while you were gone I thought that seen as you have been dragged into this mess you might as well be as safe as possible, so." He paused giving me a nervous glance." I made you this," He smiled shyly handing me a small black ball with a button on it.
"Thank you Liam um, what is it?"
"Oh well, it's an alarm so if you're ever in trouble or need help it will alert everyone that you need them, and it's an emergency and it will send your location to them."
I fiddled with the ball looking down at it before putting it in my bag. "Thank you." I beamed looking up at him for a second.
He nodded his head before Lucas called everyone for a meeting in the common room.
One by one everyone filled in sitting down on the couches, but Lucas stayed standing up looking over all of us.
"Thanks, everyone for meeting me here, I know it's late and I know we have school tomorrow but there is something very important I need to tell you all." He stated cautiously taking a deep breath before carrying on."We have a traitor amongst us and it could be anyone. Well except for Jess because why would they want her if they didn't already have her."Lucas said running his hands through his hair. All the guys were looking around and at each other with suspicious expressions thinking about who it could be.
"Look all we can do is trust no one which means we are going to have to set up some ground rules but it's late and honestly I just need some rest," Lucas huffed dragging his hands over his face in exhaustion.
Everyone nodded starting to scatter talking amongst themselves as they left the room.
Hunter didn't walk away though he sat down for a few seconds with me and Lucas before breaking the silence.
