*Lucas p.o.v*
The wind was rushing past us as we got closer and closer to the place Raymond was and the closer we got the more the guilt started to kick in.
I can't do this to her she needs me I already left her once when she needed me im an idiot for doing it again.
I took one more look back thinking about what Jess was doing right now and before I could talk myself out of it I hit the brakes and turned around.
It took them a second but the guys noticed and came back around.
"Lucas what are you doing?! Come on he's not going to be there for long! We don't have time for this." Hunter puffed breathlessly, his eyes jittery, with a look on his face as if the floor might swallow him whole any minute.
"I've gotta go back we could be there for hours and I can't leave her alone for that long." I shrugged.
"Lucas come on she will be fine she can handle herself! We need you." Hunter kept pushing.
"Na not really, I dunno bout you Hunter but I can do this without him go back to your girl Lucas we got this," Max chimed in, brushing Hunter off. Hunter turned back and glared at Max and Max rose his eyebrows.
"I trust you all to do the job well." I nodded before taking off not letting Hunter get another word in. My mind wondered to Hunters pushing, his persistence, but I shook the thought away, I would check in on Hunter later. Right now, was about Jess.

*Jess p.o.v*
I sat on the couch not wanting to leave until he came back. After my mum had died, I had this aching feeling that I could lose anyone I love at any minute, and it wouldn't let me rest, so I sat there, frozen and stuck, pushed into the couch hugging my legs with troubled hands. But before I even had time to panic the elevator door opened.
"Jess I'm an idiot." Lucas's voice cut into me, lighting me up and before I knew it I ran over to him and jumped into his arms, and after the impact had hit him he smiled down at me. His perfect dimples stained into my memories before kissing me on the forehead.
I pushed my head into his chest and the smell of burning wood and the forest hit me, warming me.
"Im sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." His smile was bittersweet now.
"Don't be sorry," I smiled up at him now, "You did nothing wrong."
He huffed before pulling away as we walked back over to the couch.
"Well I told the guys to handle it on their own, today is all about you."
"Thank you." I nodded and I felt so much calmer knowing he was safe. knowing he was by my side.
"So whatever you wanna do we'll do it," he said putting his arm over my shoulder, it was heavy, dense, warm. A feeling I could get used to.
"Anything?" I asked with a grin.
"Yep. Anything."
"How does a Disney princess movie marathon sound to you?" I chimed with a smug look on my face.
"Oh god, I instantly regret this." He burst out laughing, his laughter laid smoothly in my ears.
"Too late! You sound anything!" I declare knowing he isn't getting out of it.
"You love to torture me don't you?" He Smirked.
"I'm thinking princess and the frog cause that's a classic! Ooo we have to watch Mulan! Maybe brave.. or.." I stopped and he stared at me with scared eyes. Then it came to me... "OH MY GOSH, WE SHOULD WATCH FROZEN!!" I shouted and panic instantly spread over Lucas's face as he jumped up.
"Yep im out." He said before trying to walk away but I grabbed his arm.
"Awww. come on im joking!" I laughed.
"No frozen." He warned trying to keep a straight face but I could still tell he found it a little funny.
" Fineeee," I whined and he plopped back down. "Princess and the frog?" I asked with a grin.
"Never seen it." He shrugged.
"Oh wow. I have a lot to teach you, child."
"What did you just call me?" His head snaps over towards me with raised brows.
"Child-"
"I'm not a child." He grumbled.
"Matter of opinion," I mutter under my voice and Lucas smirks, before I can do anything he pushes me down so that my back lands firmly on the couch below us and he is now over me looking down on me.
"What was that?" He asks with a smug face.
"What was what?" I ask with a smirk on my face before it begins to burn.
"What did you say?" He asks in a low whispered tone.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I smile.
"Mhm, I bet you don't." He smirked and in an instant his soft lips were on mine, his weight on his arms as I clung to him, letting my hands tug on soft hair.
A sting of guilt pang through me as my tongue found Lucas, because of how I had refused to do this with Leo just hours ago.
But those thoughts were quickly drowned by the way my body reacted with his, his touch was deadly, hauntingly addictive. I barely stopped myself from begging for more when his lips parted mine, I leaned up to try and get another taste but after kissing me back he pulled away again and I was left there, breathless and hot with a stupid smile plastered on my face.
He pulled me up before running his hands through his messy hair as if to fix it. "Alright then let's watch it."
Hours go by and we snuggled watching princess and the frog and then Mulan, My lips tugged up the whole time, it was Like a little pocket of time where nothing else mattered but us at that moment. A moment of Lucas making snarky comments on the movie but secretly enjoying it. A moment of heart thumps and butterflies and a moment of smelling that sent that will always make me warm and cosy, burning wood and the forest.
And then just like that, the moment was over.
*Ding*
The elevator doors open and Hunter comes rushing in with the rest of the guys only it wasn't the rest of the guys. People were missing. They were all breathless and came in like an avalanche rushing towards Lucas and me.
"Lucas, they took Max and Jacob," Jack said spitting the words out as quickly as he could like acid. "We got there and no one was there so we were about t-"
"Woah Woah, slow down Jack. Tell me slowly and calmly." Lucas instructed and the rest of the guys collapsed on the couch.
"We went there and found nothing, it was empty. So we got ready to leave and we were ambushed, they knew we were going to be there. We did our best to fight back, but hundreds outnumbered us and we got away. Jacob and Max weren't so lucky." He said the last words with a softness in his voice. Something you never heard from Jack. Not that you heard much of him at all. It must have been pretty bad for him to act like this.
"How did they get Max?! He's one of our best men!" Lucas said standing up trying to take it in.
"Exactly that was what was weird about it. They went for the better-trained guys first as if they knew our fighting techniques. They knew what we were going to do before we even did it! Max had at least 60 guys on him there was no way for him to escape and Jacob was held down trying to help Max. We got on our bikes and drove off before anyone else was taken." Jack was tense. Fire and anger blazing in his eyes.
Lucas stayed silent but I could see something reignite in his eye, in the way he wouldn't look anyone in the eyes and the way he clenched his jaw.
"Someone told them we were coming. I have no doubt now. Someone has told them everything. I wouldn't be surprised if they knew where we live and I didn't want to believe it, because you guys, well, you're my brothers. But this has gone too far." Lucas said with a swallow. I could hear the pain in his voice. "I hate to do this but we're going to have to get personal about this."
When those words came out of his mouth there was a tension that filled the air as everyone looked from person to person wondering who it could be.
