Silence pierced the atmosphere with an eery feeling that slithered down my back. The feeling seemed to last forever like we were all locked in a pocket of time where nothing could reach us now. Not even the sound of our own breath.

Lucas ran his hands through his messy hair before dialling his phone and glancing at me before looking down at the floor.

"Liam, get down here, and bring you're phone and laptop," Lucas grumbled and cut the phone quickly as guilt trickled down me.

"Im going to need all of your phones," Lucas said halfheartedly not looking at a single one of them.

Although there was a mutual understanding between everyone that no one wanted to go first, someone stood up.

Hunter.

Our eyes locked for a second as he looked at me with a smile.

"Here." He said quietly giving his phone to Lucas, Lucas gave me a quick glance with eyes that said I guess we'll find out. Before taking the phone from Hunter and scrolling through. There were minutes and minutes of an intense kind of silence, one that made my head bang and my ears shriek.

"There's nothing," Lucas said, he was clearly relieved and soon after began the sighs that the dreadful silence was now over and that Hunter had not been the traitor.

Then The elevator door opened and Liam appeared, with a laptop in his arms.

Lucas gave him a guilty look as Liam's eyes scanned the room at all the guys sitting there staring at him.

Lucas explained the situation and Liam's face melted at the news, but somehow my gut refused to believe it.

And when Lucas took Liam's laptop searching through, the guilt in me was gone, my skin just pricked as suddenly I realised how deeply I didn't want to be right but wanted to be right. I didn't want Liam to be a traitor, but if he was I would have the satisfaction of saying I told you so.

After another tense 15 minutes, Lucas closes the laptop before nodding and holding out his hand and Liam gave him his phone.

I was tenser now.

He could have deleted it, the messages, how would Lucas even know, he's the only one who has had time to delete stuff if there are things to delete.

But after another 5 minutes, Lucas' poker face dropped and a warm smile lit up his face as he handed Liam back his phone giving him a guilty hug. "He's clean." Lucas laughed.

That can't be true.

"let me look at that." I snapped without so much as a thought before grabbing the phone out of Liam's hands I searched his messages his phone calls his emails.

Nothing.

Most of the calls made were either to the guys or his grandma. A rush of embarrassment came over me when I looked up and realized everyone was staring at me with judgment in their eyes. I understood how it must have looked. like I wanted Liam to be the traitor, someone who had treated me with such kindness it was only then I started to realize how awful I had been to him, all for nothing. I looked over to him to see him rubbing his neck and looking down at the floor.

His glasses hanging loosely on his face.

Without saying another word I gave the phone back to Liam and sat down.

Ashamed of myself I didn't say much else while one by one the guys gave their phone to Lucas, first Daniel then Alex, Daron then Rowin. All were clear. Until there was only one person left to check, Lucas swallowed and his chest moved slowly as he breathed with tense shoulders and a tight Jaw.
