七海秋, or Aki Nanami as the westerns would put it, was beautiful. Aki ment Autumn in English and Nanami meant seven seas. But Aki didn't feel beautiful. Aki was confused. Confused about their own life, confused about what people think of them, confused about how it went so far down so fast.

Aki wasn't born this way, a genderfluid freak as their parents would say. Aki was never called Aki in their home. They where always called 水, or Mizu. They were born a boy, and it stayed that way in their house.

Aki was disrupted from... her, today... from her thoughts when she heard "Mizu I hope you've been studying! The entrance exams are coming up!" Her mom was calling her to remind her about the U.A high entrance exams. 七海空, Sora Nanami, always wanted her "little boy" to become a great hero. Aki wasn't really about that life. She wanted something simpler. She always dreamed of being an actor one day. The thrill of being a different person, and nobody would know who you really were, that is what sounded fun. But her mom stepped in and shot that dream down. "Being a hero is much more profitable! You wouldn't like acting." Because of this, Aki had never really gotten any experiance. So here we are, trying to get her into the number one hero course in Japan.

"Mom, I'm good. It's the practical exams I'm worried about, not the written ones. I'm smart, not strong." Aki rolled her eyes. It's not like she wouldn't try, she just didn't want to worry too much about stuff like this.

"Oh, honey. I know you'll pass it, with a quirk like yours! It's going to be alright. You better pass it!" Her mom laughed as if she just told a great joke, although Aki knew that she meant that threat. Aki would be dead meat if she didn't pass the exam.

When Aki spun the quirk wheel, she definitely lucked out. She has a quirk called "Water Manipulation" or something like that. It's just as the quirk says, she can one, create water, and two, manipulate both the water she created and the water that is possibly around her. The only downfall is that she gets really tired at some points. That's why her dead name is so funny. Mizu means water in Japanese. Her mom always laughed about her secret quirk being to name something and it gives that something the quirk that she named.

The Nanami family was odd. Sora Nanami was quirkless, and this is why she always wanted her kid to be a hero, because she never could. Aki's father was never spoken of. Aki didn't even know his name, what he looked like, or what his quirk may be. Lastly, there is Aki's older brother. 七海取る, Toru Nanami. His quirk is that he can take away a memory from anyone. If that's confusing, don't worry. It means, to an extent, that he can erase somebody's memory of anything, just by looking at them. Nanami-san really wanted Toru to be a hero, to prove everyone wrong, the people that were saying that he was better off as a villain. Toru wanted to be a villain though. He was somewhat of a psychopath, always wanting to see people's faces when they were hurt. Aki never saw him again or heard of him. Her theory was that he moved somewhere else so that his family wouldn't have to deal with him.

And his name means to take. Maybe mom does have that quirk, although it is rather useless and she has two bones in her pinky toe, so that wouldn't make sense. It's all just a random coincidence.

The Nanami household also had a pet Shiba Inu named 信じ, or Shinji. It mostly meant believe, but Nanami-san took it to mean "true second son," because Toru ran away. Aki liked that meaning too, and so she stuck with that.

Aki decided to take a break from thinking in her room. She wanted to go take a walk. School had finished about ten minutes ago, and she practically ran back to her and her mother's apartment, apartment number 2.

Everyone in her school knew she was genderfluid, and the outfit she wore described what gender she would be. The male uniform if male and the female uniform if female. She would wear a bowtie on her male uniform if she wanted to be called they/them. She left before her mom woke up, so she didn't need to worry about her noticing that she wore the wrong outfit, and she got home before her mom did. It all worked out.

Once she stepped outside she immediately noticed a commission going on. She recognized 爆豪勝己, Katsuki Bakugo, one of the kids in her neighborhood. He was really mean towards her, and some other kids in the school. She didn't have any classes with him, but she heard that his quirk was that he produces nitroglycerin like substance sweat that he can make explode. Ew, she thought when she first heard it. He was also aiming to become a hero as well. With a quirk like his, he might. Although he needs to fix his attitude.

Bakugo-san seemed to be meddling with a kid that she recognized as 緑谷出久, Izuku Midoriya, a kid with a greenish messy hair, and apparently loves heroes. He was also in none of her classes, but he seemed nice enough. She heard from rumors around the school that he was quirkless, like her mother, and wanted to be a hero. He was apparently a huge fanboy and knew everything there was to know about every pro-hero. Quirkless, and he wants to be a hero? He's got spirit. Maybe we could've been friends if my stupid mom didn't place me in all of the challenging classes.

She watched them from afar, not wanting to intervene. Bakugo-san seemed to have gotten something from Midoriya-san, and Aki saw a small explosion that seemed to have come from Bakugo and he threw the object that he took into the lake, before walking off with a sneer.

Midoriya-san looked like he took a big sigh and went to retrieve the object. Aki felt bad for him, maybe she should go comfort him or something. She thought about it a little while longer, then decided against it. She continued on her way.
