Chapter Sixteen

All the students grouped around the exit from the stadium. When these doors opened, the race would start.

Beep...beep...beep! The green light indicated that the race had begun, and everyone rushed out the doors, everyone squished together and crowded Aki.

Why is this...so..hard! Don't touch me! Suddenly a wave of ice swirled around her feet, and Aki tried to move out of the way, but it was a fail. She was stuck to the ground!

Dammit! Wait, what if I use my quirk to get out of this...? She pointed her hands at the ground and shot water at it, throwing her up into the air. Okay okay, you got this, control, you are totally not just flying through the air! In a moment of quick thinking, she had water surrounding her in a little bubble, that she was swimming in. Water train! This is fun! She made the water go forward, so fast that she passed nearly all the people that were in front of her.

Suddenly she heard a loud bang and she fell unconscious.

"Hey...Aki? Aki!" Aki blinked her eyes once, twice, three times before things came into focus. Deku was standing above her, trying to wake her up. "You ran headfirst into it."

"Into what?" Aki rubbed her head and looked up.

"It's those robots from the entrance exams!" Aki stared at them in astonishment.

Before long another wave of ice hit them all. It must be Todoroki who's creating all of this ice. Not too long after, all the robots came crashing down on top of each other, blocking the path. He must've frozen them when they were off balance, so that he could get a lead. Not stopping me, though!

Using her water train trick again, she lifted herself up and over the robots, landing on the other side of them. Whew! That was close! Too bad my uniforms are all wet now though.

"Class 1-A's Nanami Aki is using his quirk to get over the obstacles! Clever!" Present Mic, who was the announcer, told everyone. Her quirk. Or at least their. At least he used my name.

Before long, Aki came across some sort of fall maze, which had a long drop. Well this isn't safe. Behind her many other students had begun to catch up. Guess they beat the robots. Tsu was one of them, and without even hesitating jumped up onto one of the strings and made her way across, like it was nothing. I gotta move now if I want to stay ahead!

Using her quirk, she carried herself up again and over the entire fall. While she was crossing, she noticed Bakugo coming up behind her, quickly passing ahead and gaining on Todoroki as well. "Move it, Nanami-san!"

She was still ahead of most everyone else though, and when she landed, she decided to pick up the pace.

Nearly sprinting to the next obstacole, she met Todoroki and Bakugo standing in front of a field of mines.

Aki stood still for a couple seconds, to catch her breath. Meanwhile, more and more students started to show up and show her what happened if you step on one of the mines.

There was a loud bang and flash and the student would be thrown into the air, crashing down and likely setting off another one. Todoroki didn't hesitate though, and started carefully making his way across the field.

I'm running out of energy. I'm going to have to use my quirk more sparingly now. Which means I can't do my water train anymore. While Aki was thinking of what she could do, she started carefully making her way across the field.

She got about halfway across before there was a huge explosion behind her. Did someone throw something big to set off all of them? That's not really that smart...

Suddenly a figure came out from the explosion. It was Deku, in hot pursuit of the lead!

Scratch that, he was in the lead! He made his way across the entire mine in just one shot! Deku...I'm impressed! That was smart! But it's not going to stop me from making my way across last! Regardless of how tired I am! She picked herself up again and shot her way across, but soon falling back down on the ground, landing on an ice path Todoroki must've made.

Dammit...I can't use...my quirk...anymore...get up Aki! She struggled to get up, wobbling, but proceeded to run anyway. So...dizzy.

She cleared the minefield, but was running slow now. Before long one student after another began to pass her. She was reaching the end, she could see it, before Ojiro, the man with the tail, the man who talked to her in the beginning passed her.

I can't let him...do this! I have to show him I'm...strong! Picking up the pace a little bit Aki stayed a couple steps behind him the entire time.

The end was getting near...it was almost over, then she could stop.

Aki passed through the door, just before Ojiro, then stopped. It's over...I- and then everything went black.

A splash of water woke Aki up. She groaned and opened her eyes to Ojiro standing over her.

"Are you okay?"

"I think so..."

"You actually came before me! I'm impressed! You must be so dizzy though, that's what your quirk does to you if you use it too much, doesn't it?"
"Yeah...I get really dehydrated."

"Here, take this then," He handed Aki a bottle of water he must've gotten from one of the business course students who were selling them.

"Thanks." Aki took the water and immediately downed the whole thing. "Ahh, much better!" She stood up and walked over to Midoriya to congratulate him on getting first.

Uraraka and Iida already beat her there, but she joined in on the conversation.

"Nice job on getting first place Midoriya-san!"

"It really was all just luck though..." He looked down.

"Yeah? Well whatever it was, it worked!"

It turned out that Aki got eleventh place, coming before Ojiro and after the guy who thought we were all like Bakugo, Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, his name was.

After everyone came back, Midnight gathered us round again. The spinning thing popped up on the screen again, for the next advent.

It landed on cavalry battle.

Oh. So we have to team up now? Well obviously I need to be with someone from class 1-A, someone that I know that their quirks will work well. This is going to be interesting.
