Who knew that Aizawa was actually joking about people being expelled. Aki had landed in eighth place, and Izuku Midoriya in last, no surprise there. The girl, who Aki saw was named 八百万百(Momo Yaoyorozu) got in first.

Everyone looked shocked that he was lying. "That was just a rational deception to make sure you all did well in the test," Aizawa-sensei said, with a smile.

The girl who got in the first place started speaking, "I'm surprised the rest of you didn't figure that out. I'm sorry, I guess I should've said something." Yah, you should've.

The day was over. It was time for Aki to head home. This time, though, their mother actually was home and was able to drive them back to the house. Aki didn't answer any of their mom's questions, and walked right to their room immediately, slamming the door when they got in. Aki wasn't mad or anything, they just...had a long day.

Memories of the day flashed through their head. Deku and the quirk test, Uraraka, Yaoyorozu, Bakugo, and...Aizawa-sensei. Aki glanced over at a picture that they had of their brother, the only one ever to exist. They pulled out their phone and scrolled through their contacts until they noticed a new one. Or, maybe not new, but they hadn't noticed it before. The name read, "brother". (See above)

They texted the number, "Toru? Is this really your number?"

The text was immediately read. "So you finally text me. After four years of me adding this number." Four years? I really haven't had a friend in four years? Another text popped up. "So you haven't added to your contacts in that long? Poor thing."

Aki couldn't help but type back a snappy response. "Shut up."

"There's the Aki I knew."

They kept chatting, asking how each other had been, telling their life stories until Aki's first day popped up.

"Your first day at UA high. Who's your teacher?"

"Shota Aizawa. The erasure hero."

'Oh, I know him. Wow, you're lucky you haven't gotten expelled yet."

"How do you know he would expel me?"

"Let's just say I've met him before. He knows me, I know him."

"What?! Tell me more!"

"Call me. I'll explain everything."

And with that, Aki called their brother after he went missing for four years.

"Toru...I- let's get to the point. How did you personally know Aizawa-sensei? He's not a big fan of the media so you couldn't have met him through that."

"I told you, I met him personally." Toru's voice was tired and dry like he hadn't had any water. There were background noises playing in the distance, talking, but Aki couldn't make out the sounds. "I was...in the middle of this crime...sorry, I shouldn't be telling you this because you're a hero."

Aki grit her teeth. They were a hero, but they still wanted to know more about Toru, really anything to keep him on the phone for longer. "No, I won't tell anyone. Please, continue."

"Really? Alright, sibling, whatever you say. So I was robbing this store, and he pops up, out of nowhere. Now, I know of him, but what can he do to me? I don't have a defining quirk, so I could get away with just erasing his memories, but I didn't want to do that. I wanted to have a little talk. Luck was on my side because my friend, who was helping me, had a teleportation quirk. So we opened up a portal and stepped through it, hoping he would take the bait. He did, of course. Little did he know that we brought him to a place where we can interrogate him. I asked my friend to leave the room, so I could have a little chat."

In the perspective of Toru during the Aizawa kidnapping

I had him backed into a corner. "Look, Erasure. I just want to have a little chat, no big deal, no need to fight. Then I'll let you be."

"You brat. I will never let you go. You're a criminal. A disgrace." Him, calling me a disgrace?

I smirked at him. "Now, no need to get hostile. Your name is Shota Aizawa, right? You are one of the pro-heroes who graduated from UA, and now teach there."

"How do you know that?"

"So I'm right, then. Listen, something about you is so like my sibling, and you have some of the same attributes as me." I knew he knew what I was talking about. I'm usually not one to take action on just gut feelings, but something was overwhelmingly strong about this one, that I just had to do something.

"Your sibling? Are they a villain too?"

"No. With my luck, they will probably become a hero and go to UA next year. But if you ever find out about them, you have to leave them alone. It's not their fault their brother is a villain."

"You were saying that something of me reminded you of them."

I knew I had him trapped. He was interested in my gut feeling and wasn't making any moves to try to catch me. "Aizawa-san, I have never known my father. My earliest memories were when I was five and my sibling was four. But never mind that. But I knew whenever I met them, I would know."

"Are you saying-"

"Not necessarily. I'm just saying. Black, messy hair, sarcastic personality...it's all just too familiar."

"What's your point? I might as well just throw you through the wall."

"Like you could do that!" I snickered. He didn't look like the type to throw me threw a steel wall. "Yes, I'm saying that based on my evidence and lack of a known father, that you in fact are my father."

"No. I couldn't be. Even if I was, I would never admit to it."

"Fine, then I'll just be going. But I want you to remember one word. If a person ever says the word 'ゴーストフレーム', then I want you to tell them everything, no matter what."

And with that, I left the room.

Back to Aki third person present time

"So you had the same instinct I did," Aki remarked, remembering how they felt like something was familiar the entire time.

"Yes. But now you know everything, so I want you to go up to him tomorrow and say the word. I'm so glad that you have him for a teacher, this makes things much easier." They heard yelling in the background, but this time they could make out Toru's name being called. "I have to go. Call me back tomorrow as soon as you can."

"Wait, Toru, I-"

"Make it quick, Aki."

They sighed. "I love you, Toru. And miss you."

"Me too, Aki. Someday we'll meet again, I'm sure of it. Bye." The phone hung up on its own. But Aki felt happier, now they had something to do.

Who knows Aki's real father. Who knows what Aki's brother is up to. But they intend to find out, now that they have been given new information. A new hope, of some sort, that gives them the determination to find out.
