About ten months went by. It was the day of the entrance exams.

"Oh, you are such a big boy, honey! You are going to pass them, I know you will!" Aki's mother was crying. He, today, got dressed in a simple black tank top, and jean shorts and sighed at his mom.

"I'll try my hardest mom. No promises though," he replied and then slammed the door behind him. At least I don't have to deal with her today.

When he got to the entrance exam, he realized just how many people there actually were. Hundreds of kids lined up for the written exam. U.A had a low acceptance rate, Aki didn't know the exact numbers, but he knew they were super slim. He gazed around the room and recognized one of the kids around him. It was none other than Izuku Midoriya. Aki glanced around, making sure that Bakugo-san wasn't around, because he hated him. The coast was clear, and Aki walked up to him.

"Hey, I'm 七海秋(Aki Nanami). You're 緑谷出久(Izuku Midoriya), right? I think you are in the same apartment as me and I think we went to the same school. I don't think I had any classes with you though," Aki said with a smile, hoping that he would actually respond to him, and not think that he was weird.

"Uh, yeah I'm Midoriya," he smiled while blushing. "I've heard from you. You have a water quirk, right? You can create and control water? That's amazing, I bet you'll definitely get into U.A with that kind of quirk!" How does this kid know so much about me? Well, fair I know a decent amount about him, but I didn't think anybody thought my quirk was amazing.

"Ha, yup that's me! I'm surprised you know so much about me! I never knew somebody actually noticed me," Midoriya laughed as if he gets this a lot.

"I like to pay attention to people with cool quirks. Pro-heroes, you, some kids in my class... and Bakugo-san. I'm sure you know of him," He looked down as if he was embarrassed.

Aki smiled, to assure him nothing was wrong, "Bakugo-san, that guy? Oh yeah, who doesn't know of him? He hates me though. Calls me a freak and everything. Although I guess he hates everybody, doesn't he!"

"A freak? Why?" Before I could answer, he caught himself, "Oh, right, you are, um. You're-"

"I'm genderfluid, it's alright you can say it. I'm pretty sure you don't mind. Hey, I got an idea!" Aki thought of something quickly to say, to get off this sensitive topic. "How about we go to the UA practical exams after this together?" Midoriya looked surprised, as he never got asked to walk with someone. "It's been a while since I've had a friend to do this with!" I've never had a friend to do this with, but he kept those thoughts to himself.

Before Midoriya could respond, however, a bell rang symbolized for the exams to start. "Well, I'll meet you back here," Aki shouted as he ran off towards the building, eager to get this whole thing over with

The written exams were not as hard as Aki thought they would be, but maybe that was just because he studied so much. Thanks, mom. Never thought I would hear myself think that.

He walked out and stretched his arms, so Aki was not looking when he walked right into none other than Bakugo-san himself.

"Hey watch where you- oh. It's you," He said with just pure hatred. Did you think he just disliked Aki? No, he hates him.

"Right, me. Now if you don't mind, I told someone I would walk home with them."

"Is it Midoriya? You idiot. Nobody should be friends with that nerd." Aki was at a loss for words, and couldn't think of anything to say, so he just walked away. Before he could get far, however, Bakugo clapped his hand on Aki's shoulder, and he tensed. "Listen. I know about your quirk. It may be powerful, but nothing is better than my quirk. I'll be a better hero than you, and you know it."
