"WHERE IS SHE?"

Finnick was distraught, his voice cracking and desperate as he sprinted through the hospital corridors.

He found Haymitch, who stood outside of a door he only assumed was Katniss'.

"Haymi-"

The older man only pointed to a room down the hall, where doctors were both entering and leaving.

"Finnick, she had a bulletproof jacket, she'll be fine-"

He was already halfway down the hallway, peaking into the room where his fiance layed.

He entered the room, noticing a sleeping Octavia passed out on the bed.

Her lips were parted, chapped and cut from what he assumed was her biting it. He walked over, pulling one of the chairs to her bedside.

He gripped her hand, his heart pounding at the mere thought of that bullet actually piercing her skin.

He stayed like that, unmoving until she woke.

_

The blinding light and sharp ache of her side is what Octavia opened her eyes to.

"Shit," she muttered, tensing slightly as she tried to roll over.

Finnick was immediately at her side, gripping her hand in his.

"I should've been there for you-"

"No," she cut off, rubbing the pad of her thumb over her knuckles.

"No, I'm okay, I'm fine," she mumbled, her hazel eyes connecting with his green ones.

He didn't say anything, just climbed in next to her.

"Lift up your shirt," he demanded gently. Octavia gave him an odd look before lifting her shirt up.

"Jesus, Tave."

The skin along her side was conpletely purple, a small black dot where the bullet must've imbedded into the vest in the middle.

Finnick, looked up at her, before slowly leaning down and brushing his lips onto the bruise.

Octavia let out a small gasp, his warm lips contrasting the chill that had been going down her body.

Finnick pulled away, leaning back up to press his lips to hers.

They stayed like that for awhile, in eachothers arms. He held her while she tried to move as little as possible.

"Tommorow is going to be amazing," Octavia whispered, looking up at the man she loved.

"As long as you're there," he whispered back, a teasing smirk on his face.

"Are you insinuating I would skip out on our own wedding?" She faked astonishment, a small laugh escaping her lips. She groaned as she bit her lip from the pain that erupted in her side.
