Don't Walk Away From Me

"Dorian what was that?" asked Jannah as she, Finn, and Poe met her at the bottom of the stairs. Dorian was still confused by what happened and it took a moment to register what just happened. Finn grabbed and shook her lightly getting her attention and focus, she looked him in the eyes and he asked "What happened?". Shaking her head she looked at the three of them, "Outside".

"I don't know what that was..but it was like when we touched..I felt, complete and euphoric." Dorian said with widen eyes. Poe then said "So what like..in love or something?"

She shook her head "I don't know..it's something i've never felt, except once before years ago" Dorian felt like she was going to vomit. "What happened?" asked Jannah. "The day I first met ..Ben. We shook hands...there was this spark...I need to find him."  with that she stormed past them to look for him. She knew where he was, she wasn't sure how, but she knew. He was down by the lake. She began running through the forest till reached the edge and saw Ben who was right in front of her. 

"What was that?" she blurted out. Ben didn't turn around and instead just said "what, was what?". Dorian scoffed and stepped forward "Don't play dumb, you know what I'm talking about- ". Ben began to walk away and Dorian yelled "Don't walk away from me Ben", but he wouldn't listen, so Dorian stalked towards him, and grabbed his hand, and that feeling resurfaced. Ben felt a shiver going down his spine. He pulled his hand away and faced her "Do not touch me" his voice was almost scared. "So you did feel something..Ben what-" Dorian was scared and confused. Ben glared at her "I didn't feel anything. What do you want me to say? huh?" His voice was breaking and the color was draining from his face. 

"Don't lie to me...I know that you don't like me, but-" she tried to say taking a step closer to him. He backed away, and shouted "IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT IT WAS .. I HATE YOU.. with everything in me I hate you, I wish you nothing but pain and sorrow, you are nothing and you will always be nothing." 

For years Dorian could handle Ben's antics, his rude, crass behavior and demeanor, but now, he hurt her. She tried to keep herself from crying, but before she knew it, tears fell and her eyes met his, and with a broken voice she spoke just above a whisper "..Ben".

Ben found himself having a sharp pain in his chest, seeing her cry. It along with the feeling of her touch was scaring him, as though there was a light forming inside him. He started to take a step forward, but stopped and shook his head. He then turned away and took off running to his families house, locking himself in his meditation room, calling to his mentor, to help him put out this light. 

Dorian dropped to her knees and softly wept. These emotions and feelings she had touching Ben, were so strong and gave her a sense of comfort, that she hadn't felt, even with her own parents. She felt so alone. 

She wasn't sure how long she had been there, starring down at the rocks, pebbles, and sand before she heard "There, she is..I told you guys" Said Finn, as he, Poe, and Jannah came into view. "wha--you guys, what are you doing here?...how did you find me" she said straightening herself up. "We're you're friends Dori, and Finn knew" Said Poe, which made Dorian look at Finn in confusion wanting to ask how he 'knew'.  Jannah pulled her into a hug, the girls pulled away and she shook her head "Let's go back to the ball." 

The four friends trudge their way back up the temple, and Dorian tried with everything to have fun and dance with her friends, but she just wanted to be with Ben, and talk to him and find out why they had such a strong connection with one another. She knew that talking to anyone outside of her friends could cause a major problem between her and Ben, and thought it best to just force away those feelings. 

(this chapter and the next are pretty short, but it'll lengthen back up again....hopefully :)
