From then until now, it had been smooth sailing.
I was still inside of the helicopter, being tended to by my father while Alex still flew.
I winced. My dad was cleaning my wound to make sure I didn't get any infections.
"Are you all right?" my father asked while finishing to wrap the bandage.
"To be honest, no," I replied. "The superheroes in movies just walk it off. They make it look so easy. I feel like I'm about to die!" I exclaimed.
"Drink your water, then maybe you'll feel better. I'm gonna tell you the truth. There's nothing we're going to be able to do here to stop the pain. But when you arrive at the academy they'll have the best of the best working on you're leg."
"Wait, what?" I responded. "I have to go back to the academy?" I asked.
"You still have to go to school with Alex and Kim," Mum said. "We have to go home, your father and I. It's a remote island where we can stay off the grid."
"Isn't it safer to be with you?" I asked.
"You still need your education, sweetheart."
That's where we were heading right now. I was sort of excited to get to see my real house. I hoped it looked exactly like you expected a spy house to look like.
It had been only a few minutes that we had been on the helicopter. That was when Harry called. Instantly, I panicked. He might have realized we were gone. Then I thought he could just be calling me to talk. Nevertheless, it would be suspicious to not answer. So I did.
"Hey Harry," I said. "Why are you calling?".
"I'm just calling to say hey," he started. "And tell you that I know you're gone."
My first instinct was to hang up.
"Why would you think that?" I asked. "Because we were supposed to meet tonight in my room," he responded. Oh no, I thought. I completely forgot about our study date. There was no way I was going to be there in time now. "I also figured such because the principal initiated a worldwide search for you! She went to your room to check on you, and you weren't there. She thinks someone kidnapped you. Everyone does. Where are you, Cathy? Are you okay?" he asked.
I could tell he was really worried.
"Look, Harry. I can't tell you where I am."
She looked up and saw that her parents, everybody on the helicopter, was staring at her.
"Who are you talking to?" my mom asked.
"Just a boy at school," I replied. I returned my attention to the phone.
"Tell me where you are, Cathy. I'm worried about you. You can trust me." She thought this over.
"I'm sorry, Harry."
"No, I'm sorry, Cathy. I found her!" Harry exclaimed. He was talking to someone back at the academy.
At the academy the principal made her way down to Harry's room.
"Thank you Harry. I didn't know you were so passionate about programming."
I felt betrayed, and by none other than my crush!
Harry told her her coordinates of the plane she was in.
"Cathy, I'm doing this to protect you."
Suddenly, Kim went to the cockpit of the helicopter. She had a look on her face that indicated that she was thinking hard. She tucked her hair behind her ears as if trying to listen to something. She then started to look through the heads-up display. She continued to stare. Alex started to look, too. As did my parents. I started to worry. Harry noticed that she hadn't spoken in a long time.
"Cathy," he started. "What's going on... talk to me!" he exclaimed. There was a moment of silence in between everyone on the helicopter and at the academy.
Suddenly, a bright light appeared in the heads-up display. She soon after realized exactly what it was.
A missle.
I screamed. What I didn't understand was how my parents, Kim and Alex remained calm. Cathy and Kim had learned about these kinds of missiles. It was called a ballistic missile. It could follow any vehicle unless you destroyed it.
"Do something!" Cathy yelled. The missile was still relatively far away, but we were moving fast towards it and it was coming fast towards us. It wouldn't be long before it found it's target.
"Stay calm," Alex started. "And hold on tight."
It was nearly upon us now. I braced myself for an impact. Everyone did. But it didn't matter. If it hit us we would die, no question about that. I was scared and even though everyone else tried to hide this, I knew that they were just as scared as I am. Okay, maybe not just as scared as I am. But still really scared.
"5," Alex started. "4, 3, 2, 1."
He yanked one of his handles and they sharply turned right, the helicopter rotating as they did this. Yes. Rotating as in going upside down then right side up. It was the worst roller coaster ever. I was screaming the whole time. I kept my grip tightly. My phone was definitely gone. Well not gone. Just somewhere in the helicopter, bouncing around. By now it was probably broken. Soon, though, she realized exactly where her phone was. It was wedged between an unoccupied chair in the back of the helicopter.
Harry yelled through the phone. "What's going on?". He could hear her screaming and was really worried. So was the principal. She notified Harry that she had the best MI6 agents she could find going on a helicopter to save them.
The missile was behind the helicopter now.
"Are we going as fast as we can?" I asked.
"Yes," Alex replied.
I looked to the back of the helicopter. It was gaining on us. It seemed to be going faster than before. I was really worried now. Suddenly, Alex slowed down the plane.
"Alex," I yelled. "What are you doing?" I asked.
Alex let go of the controls completely.
"It's not me! Somebody's hacking in," he responded. "Brace for impact."
I started to breathe heavily and I closed my eyes, hoping this was a dream that I was going to wake up from soon. Even though I knew this wasn't the case. Suddenly the missile caught up.
And destroyed the main rotor blade.
Soon, everything went black as we crashed in the woods.
