Chapter 8: Captured

The hermits were running as fast as they could around Mad City. They have nowhere to run.

"Hey!" one officer exclaimed as they ran past him.

"Sorry!"

The guards were catching up, and they were losing speed. Bulk managed to catch Tango.

"Tango!" the hermits exclaimed.Tango struggled on Bulk's grip, one guard cuffing him, while the others ran again to catch the hermits.

"Look Officer, we were just taking a stroll around town. No harm no foul" Two reasoned with a police, who was nodding in disbelief, just as the hermits came running between them.

"Woah! What's the deal with those guys?" the officer asked.

The Quintuple Trouble just shrugged, when the guards ran past them.

"What is going on?" Five asked with curiosity.

"Those people right there, those are criminals" one guard explained briefly, before returning to the chase.

"Whaaaaaa-?" the officer was confused. The Quintuple Trouble took this chance to get away unnoticed.

Back on the hermits, they nearly outrun the guards. Key word: Nearly.

"We're losing em Jeremy!" one British guard said, stopping to catch his breath.

Jeremy glared at the hermits before whistling. Some lower rank guards brought out a giant magnet. They turned it on, towards the direction of the hermits.

As the hermits were running, some of them were having harder time to step. Specifically, Wels, Iskall and Doc. All three were struggling to move forward, the magnet overpowering them. They all went flying to the magnet, unable to move.

"Where did they get that magnet?!" Zedaph asked in disbelief.

Impulse grabbed his arm. "We'll figure that out in another time"

As they turned around the sidewalk, the guards surprised them. More than half of them were taken, only ones left were X, Grian, Mumbo, Ren, and Impulse. The moment the guards jumped down, they managed to run away. Now, they are hiding between an alleyway.

"What are we going to do?" Ren asked fearfully.

"I hear them!" one guard exclaimed. They all held their breaths as the guards approached them.

"You guys go, I'll distract them" Impulse offered.

"But they'll get you!" Mumbo exclaimed quietly.

Impulse didn't answer. He knows that it's a risky situation, but he's willing to do it. "Just go" he said, before stepping out of the alley they were hiding.

The others took this time to get away, not wasting Impulse's sacrifice.

Unbeknownst to them, one guard was waiting on the sidewalk. He grabbed the nearest hermit, which turned out to be Ren.

"Go get out of here!" he commanded, while trying to fight the guard.

Mumbo, Grian and X ran, taking a few alleys and sidewalks. When they come out of the curb, they were greeted by the Criminal Base.

"Stop right there!" Jeremy shouted.

The three looked around before running towards their left.

"Aren't they tired?" Mark complained, collapsing beside Jeremy. The other guards followed his suit, breathing heavily.

"I've only heard about Minecraft on a few occasions. Do they run a lot there?" the British guard asked.

"I think so" Jeremy muttered to himself. "Keep going lads, Jeffrey will be mad at us if we don't get them" he ordered.

All the guards groaned.

"I know, I know, I'm tired too" Jeremy muttered for the group, as they begin to chase the hermits once more, a little bit lagging behind.

The trio skidded behind the mall, breathing heavily.

"D-did we lose them?" Mumbo asked, collapsing on the alley.

"I think so" Grian replied.

The three were silent for a few seconds, only their breaths could be heard. All of a sudden, footsteps could be heard.

"Guys" X called out, Grian and Mumbo noticing the sounds too.

"Don't they get tired?" Grian exclaimed quietly.

"Don't worry we are too" Jeremy said, appearing on the curb.

"Finally! We agree on something!" Grian replied.

"Just surrender already? That'll make it easier for both of us" the British guard said, panting.

"How about... no!" X shouted as the three of them ran again.

The guards could be heard groaning behind them. The trio smirked, but was short lived when they were met with a dead end. They all looked around to see nowhere else to go.

"I see them go this way!" one bystander said outside.

"Looks like we have to climb this thing" X turned to Grian and Mumbo, who nodded hesitatingly.X began to climb the wall with a little bit of ease. Grian looked at Mumbo reluctantly before climbing the wall, sometimes slippering on a few occasions. When Mumbo was about to climb, the guards appeared on the curb.

"There!"

"Hurry!" Grian and X exclaimed, Grian reaching out his hand to Mumbo.

Mumbo was about halfway there, when Bulk grabbed his leg. The guards began to yank him down, Grian and X struggling to keep hold.

"Grian! Let me go!" Mumbo exclaimed.

"But Mumbo-!" Grian argued, his grip beginning to slip.

"Just let go. Save yourselves. This will nothing good for all of us"

Grian looked at him with teary eyes before letting his grip go. Mumbo crashed into the guards, while Grian crashed to X.

"Let's go" X whispered, and the two of them disappeared into the buildings.

Roblox Lobby

The royals stared as the guards dragged Mumbo out of Mad City.

"Don't feel too sympathetic to them" Jeffrey said flatly as she approached them.

The royals just turned away from her, not willing to talk at the moment.

"What are you doing here?" Sarah asked angrily, wiping a tear in her eye.

"I'm just here to check on you guys" Jeffrey replied innocently. The royals didn't dare make eye contact.

"Listen, I now we have some issues from the past, but that's not important right now"

She managed to get their attention. "What do you mean?" Kate asked.

Jeffrey smirked in her mind. "What I'm trying to say is... I feel you guys. Believe me, I feel betrayed too with those hermits. But I have no choice, since it's written on the rules"

The royals looked down in disappointment, knowing fully that they have nothing against the rules.

"I'm truly sorry" Jeffrey said one last time before leaving. When she was facing her back towards them, she smirked evilly.
