"Mom! Nakauwi na'ko!"
My voice echoed around the house. Nakita kong napasilip si mommy from the kitchen.
"Honey I thought sa condo ka na ngayon matutulog?"
"You don't want me here?" I pouted. Nagdecide akong mag stay at my parents house this week. Wala lang I just missed them.
"Pabayaan mo na yan sweet, minsan na lang yan makauwi dito."
I turned my gaze to dad na nanonood sa living room. Sinenyasan n'ya akong umupo sa tabi n'ya so I gracefully obliged. Pero napasimangot ako when I saw what he's watching.
"Dad ayoko ng palabas."
"Why?"
"You know i hate basketball"
He sighed. Napakamot s'ya ng pisngi bago ako ulit binalingan.
"Hindi naman ex mo ang naglalaro."
I lifted my feet para maipatong sa coffee table. I tried to get the remote from him pero mabilis n'yang naiiwas.
"Jessica sandali. Last quarter na 'to kaya hintayin mo na."
Hindi ko na s'ya pinilit and just grab my phone to scroll on my social media account.
"Do you know Lance Miguel, Jessi?"
I froze when I heard his name. Damn! Syempre dad kilala ko yung Mago na yun! Now i remember the very reason kung bakit ako nandito sa bahay ng parents ko.
After the incident at my condo, hindi na kami ulit nag-usap ni Mago. I mean, okay lang naman na hindi kami mag-usap kasi we're not close naman pero palagi s'yang dumadalaw sa set. Minsan tumatabi pa s'ya sakin, i don't know kung sinasadya n'ya pero pag nahuhuli ko s'yang nakatingin tinataasan lang n'ya ako ng kilay. Hmp!
Then kahapon nakita ko s'ya sa tapat ng condo ko. Sobra akong nataranta kaya napauwi ako ng wala sa oras dito sa bahay.
"Lance Miguel is haft Filipino I guess. Napanood ko interview n'ya one time eh. You know him, Jessi?"
"Why did you asked dad?"
My heart's beating so fast I don't why! Di rin ako makatingin ng deretso kay daddy.
"Well, he was part of Bryan's team before, kaya baka kako kilala mo."
"I- uhm, i kinda know him. Nakikita ko na s'ya dati."
My dad becomes attentive on my word. Napapalo pa s'ya sa sofa and excitedly turn his gaze on me.
"Look, game nila to last season. He's good actually. Bibihira lang ang opportunity para makasali sa international league. He's pretty popular now."
"Uhhm, I'm not interested dad. I still hate basketball."
"He's dating someone now, i saw a picture on it sa internet."
What? I mean, yeah sure it's not a secret that Mago's dating someone. Pero ano ba naman at pati 'yon alam ng tatay ko. I don't know, I feel irritated. Bwisit na Mago. Hmp!
"Yeah I heard. Fia ang pangalan." I answered.
"Hmm interesting. You two must be close for you to know that. You and his girlfriend are living in the same building."
Huh?
"What do you mean dad?"
"I just saw it on the internet nga. Showbiz website I think. He was carrying his girl on the elevator."
