9. Words can Hurt

"I'm Annabeth Chase,daughter of Athena," Annabeth said, standing up.

Everyone had just been sitting there for about 5 minutes since the Chuck incident and she felt the need to break the silence, since no one else was.
She saw Chiron smile and nod in her direction, clearly pleased.

"Piper McLean, Aphrodite's kingdom, " said Piper as Annabeth down.

Annabeth quickly smiled in Piper's direction, glad she wasn't the only one who spoke.

"Thalia Grace, heir for Zeus," Thalia said with a smirk in her direction.
Slowly the royals began introducing themselves, with their names and kingdoms.

"Wonderful ! How about we state our hobbies, for us to get to know each other better?" Chiron asked enthusiastically.

"I love makeup!" squeaked Lacy, "Silena loves makeup too, and she designs dresses. Piper likes cars ! And watching movies !!"
Piper blushed, visibly embarrassed about her younger sisters outburst.

"Well I'm quite the stand up comedian myself " Leo Valdez shouted, getting on his feet.

He then proceeded to try and get everyone to laugh, which he succeeded at, if groans of annoyance were considered laughs.

But nevertheless, everyone did end up in hysterics, including Annabeth herself after Leo's impression of Coach Hedge.

"Great, Mission accomplishment Leo, now let us peasants speak, And show you what actual comedy is,"shouted Charles Beckendorf , wiping tears from his eyes.

"Sticks and stones may break my bones but your words will never hurt me" Leo shouted, continuing his endless streams of jokes.

Annabeth locked eyes with Thalia, and ran towards her, taking the seat next to her.She whispered something to Thalia ,who ran into the Pallas.

Jason Grace shot Annabeth a confused look ,she just smirked.
Thalia re-emerged and glanced in Annabeth's direction, who nodded slowly.

Leo was saying something about a cursing horse and didn't notice Thalia slowly sneaking up behind him.

She raised the book and smacked it on his head.

"What the heck?!" He asked Thalia, turning around rubbing his aching skull.

"That's a Dictionary, Mr Sticks and Stones ," she yelled out, causing fits of laughter from all the campers and a whoop from Luke and Annabeth.

"Can you keep it a little low here?!?! My kids tryin' to sleep!!", Coach Hedge yelled from around five yards away. As it turned out, the staff had cottages built on the far end of the garden for them to stay.

At that, Leo grinned evily. "Hey Coach! I'm having trouble hearing you. Could you please use that megaphone over there?"

Hedge, who looked pleasantly surprised to hear this, obliged. He picked up the megaphone and repeated what he'd said, but his voice came out like Darth Vader's. When he tried again, the phone blared 'the cow says moo!'. This time, he just glared at Leo and went inside, slamming his door in the process.

"Gods, Leo. How did you do that?", Piper asked, the first to recover, from everyones fits of laughter.

Leo slipped a tiny Phillips-head screwdriver into his pocket. "I'm a special boy."

"You Children seem to prefer informal fun," Chrion remarked, emerging from who knows where, with a pleasant but slightly mocking smile on his face.
