13. Flatter Aphrodite at all Costs

Jason got up and sprinted away from next to Drew. He made the mistake of looking under the table and saw .....well, a lot of stuff. He couldn't do that, being a gentleman.
He sat down next to Percy.

"Bro, what happened? I had to go iron my shirt and got late."

Percy was eating some waffles and looked up, a piece on a fork right about to enter his mouth.

"Oh, you missed a lot. Coach and Chiron came and saw - JASON GRACE HOW DARE YOU?!" He yelled out in the middle, startling Jason and everyone at the table. The Stolls even dropped their spoons in surprise.

Everyone turned to look at the commotion and Jason had a confused look on his face.

"You don't want me asking? I could just-"

"NO YOU STUPID BLOND SUPERMAN That's not what I'm talking about !!! YOU ARE LITERALLY SITTING NEXT TO ME AND EATING FISH!!!! My kingdoms National Animal!!!! I AM FISH FRIENDLY AND YOU ARE EATING THEM?!! I THOUGHT WE WERE BROS!!"

Jason's mouth dropped open, along with everyone else's. No one said anything, except for Annabeth who muttered,"Seaweed Brain."

"This is about fish?" He asked slowly.

Percy raised his hands in the air ."Did you hear nothing I said ?!! THE FISH."

Percy got up, abandoning his waffles and began walking towards the door. He turned around and yelled, "SAVE THE FISH JASON!!!! THEY JUST WANT TO SWIM. FISH ARE FRIENDS, NOT FOOD. Ever heard of that???!?" he said waving his hands around madly.

The entire table was silent, all looked at the verge of laughter.

"Good morning -Oh Goodness ! Am I interrupting something?" aksed Aphrodite, entering through the door.

Percy turned to face her, he still looked annoyed. "Well, now that you mention it-"

"He's going to return to his seat and sit down like a good little boy," Charles Beckendorf announced, staring pointedly at Percy.

He pouted but nevertheless, returned to his seat.

"Let me being by saying how you all must be regretting your behaviour the other day. You are not to soil your beautiful clothes like that! And do you have any idea how many news outlets poked fun at Queen Hera for the way she reacted ?! It's like she's the nation wide joke!!",the goddess burst but before anyone could say anything, she went on.

"Anyway darlings, I've come to make a wonderful announcement! You see-"

"Your majesty! What a pleasure," Chiron called out as he entered through the door. "There was something I hoped to discuss with you," he said as she extended her hand for him to kiss.

"Of course, let me just finish-"

" Did I tell you how beautiful you look today your highness? Absolutely stunning."

"Oh well then, I suppose I can spare a moment," she beamed.

Chiron smiled and led her into the corner of the room. He seemed to be explaining something, while Queen Aphrodite seemed to be paying only half attention, which suddenly changed into a smile after Chiron finished his statement.

While Chiron and the Queen were having their conversation, Leo managed to explain what happened to Jason.

Apparently it started with Annabeth, Clarisse and Thalia going out to the garden and returning in slighly muddy gowns, then Rachel Elizabeth Dare showed up in a paint splattered gown.

But the biggest part of this entire thing was when Drew entered the breakfast room with an extremely revealing outfit on.

Not only were Hazel's and Annabeth's eyes covered by Nico and Luke the second she entered, but Coach Hedge lost his mind, running to Chiron and yelling a stream of curses along the way.

"Whoa, how could I miss that," was all Jason managed to say before Chiron and Aphrodite returned.

"Chiron and I were just talking, and he so graciously explained to me about having all of you in matching outfits! So I decided to make pink gowns for the girls and-" Queen Aphrodite beagn.

"Your Majestly, I hoped that the outfits could be less formal, like maybe some jeans and tops," Chiron explained to her slowly.

"But, the gowns-"

"Your majesty, If anyone can design beautiful tops and bottoms for these children, it would be someone as beautiful as you"

"Well....I suppose I could tell Circe to do that."

"Thank you your majesty" Chiron remarked as he turned towards the royals. "It is official, from next week you children shall be wearing uniforms."

"Yes yes, now back to the reason I came here."

"Of course your majesty" Chiron bowed as he left the room.

"Children" Queen Aphrodite began, beaming. "Tomorrow on the Screening, I shall be announcing your first dates! And you'll go on them right after."

And suddenly there was pin drop silence ....

Except for Jason, who, by then, had gotten a different breakfast. He was the only one who continued eating. I'll go with her anyway, he thought.

Then he looked over at Aphrodite. Right ? Unless I'll have to fullfil the contract my parents signed when I was two....

Belated Happy Birthday Jason, our very own Blond Superman !!!! And Happy Birthday in advance to the Bad Boy Supreme !!
