"You're engaged?" Piper asked as soon as they sat down at their table, the hadn't said a word to each other since the.....announcement.

"Yes" Jason replied, not making me eye contact as he placed his Napkin on his lap.

"Oh" Piper said. She shouldn't be feeling this disappointed, especially since she just met him.

The silence was deafening...:she couldn't take it anymore.
"Do....you love her?" She blurted out.

Jason looked at her, for the first time the entire date "I respect her"

"That doesn't answer my question"

He sighed, putting his utensils down and looking directly as piper.
"You want me to be honest ?"

Piper nodded.

"My parents and Ares kingdom signed a contract when I was about 2. Since the kingdoms were next to each other, they wanted to expland into each other and have a single,un defeatable kingdom.
Then when it came to who would be ruling the kingdom, both the kings fought.
Until Queen Hera suggested that Reyna and I be engaged, so one day we could rule the new kingdom together.
Neither of us wanted it.
We have met a couple of times and I respect her immensely, but love......
Some of our subjects are divided on the topic, they don't want the kingdom of Zeus to loose its name or the Kingdom of Mars to give up its weapons.
So we have to see"

Piper just stared at him, it was a lot to take in "then why are you here ? And on a date with mm..me?"

"Well because apparently, being a participant in The Choosing nulls the contract, giving us freedom to be with who ever we want.
If we find a partner, the deal looses its value and stops.
The funny thing is, all the old people in my kingdom, who are in their 40's or 50's realllly want this deal to happen.
But their children and grandchildren, the millennials don't " he chuckled.
Piper smiled and drank her tea as they both made small talk, their introduction, long forgotten.

"Prince Leo!!" Calyspo explained as he tipped the entire table over,coming crashing down with it.

"Are you okay?" she said,laughing with tears brimming her eyes

"A lil help would be appreciated now that you mention it" he pouted.

Calypso laughed and offered her arm to help him up, and together they propped up the table.

"Your suit!" she gasped

Leo looked down, indeed his suit was completely wet, 'Thank Hephasteus that they didnt bring food yet' he thought.

"where are the cameras?" Calpyso aksed as they sat down again.

"well....wherever they are they must be devastated they missed my little show"

Calpsyso giggled.

A couple of servants and cameramen had arrived, bringing them some food,though one maid did give him a dirty look,eying his wet suit.

"Soo tell me Sunshine, where were you all my life....''

"In my fathers kingdom,obviously. And don't call me Sunshine," she replied,with a laugh.

"And that's how I won the wrestling championship" Clarisse concluded.

"Damn..." was all Chris managed

This girl....holy Hera was cool

"Ugh this breads so....plain" she said taking a bite.

"Eh, tastes like bread"

"Obviously bread would taste like bread"

Chris shrugged, and took a bite himself, "you're right, some jam would be good "

"Haha Jam, good one"

"What's wrong with Jam?!"

"We don't eat sweets and all that sugar back at Ares, well before Aphrodite came along anyway"

"You never tried Jam?!!" He asked, shocked.

"Nope"

"Oh gods !!" Chris said, he waved over a nearby servant and asked for a jar of jam.

10 minutes later he was holding a fresh bottle of  strawberry jam with a smile.

"Now give me your bread" he commanded

Clarisse grunted, but handed in her bread anyway.

"Now take a bite" he said giving her a slice of freshly jammed piece of bread.

"Are's Apple Box!! This tastes good" Clarisse exclaimed, after devouring the sandwich.

"Here have an other" Chris laughed
