GABRIEL HALL groaned and walked to the door of his apartment, minding the packed moving boxes around his feet. The knocking continued as he approached the door, "Coming!" he yelled as he jogged to the door cause apparently someone was impatient.

When Gabriel opened the door, he knew exactly who was just so impatient to see him. His sister, Cadence.

Gabriel looked at his younger sister up and down as she smiled on the other side of the doorway. She was holding her cat Geronimo who for some reason did not like Gabriel, a bag with what looked like to hold a bunch of cat toys, and a bag that held a few plants. But that's not what made Gabriel groan. It was his sister's smile.

It was the same smile she used on him on that one time when Cadence was in college and asked Gabriel to pick up some alcohol to "prepare" her for her 21st birthday that was a month away. It was the same smile that 14-year-old Cadence gave him when she convinced Gabriel to teach her how to drive without their parents' knowing. It was that same smile when Cadence recently found out Gabriel's soulmate and wife, Elsie Hall, was pregnant and Cadence wanted Gabriel to consider naming the child Cadie (Gabriel's nickname for his younger sister) or Cade (if the child turned out to be a boy).

"What do you want?" Gabriel whined while looking at his sister with that damn smile. Sometimes he just couldn't deny his sister, even if there was a five-year difference between the two siblings.

Maybe the five-year difference was why Gabriel couldn't say no to his sister. When Cadence was born, Gabriel was five and when he first held his little baby sister in his arms, he promised himself that he would watch over her. And that meant making sure that whatever trouble Cadence wanted to get in, Gabriel would either convince her not to or join her. It was mostly the latter.

Cadence gave her older brother a shocked expression, "Why would you ever think that I would want something?" She asked, astounded.

Before Gabriel could answer his sister, he heard a call from behind him.

"Gabe! Who's at the door?" Came a yell.

Then Cadence just walked in Gabriel's apartment, put her bags carefully on the ground, and handed the devil cat, Geronimo, to Gabriel as Cadence went and hugged Gabriel's, not quite yet showing, pregnant wife.

"Elsie!" Cadence greeted while hugging short-haired blonde woman.

Elsie hugged back, "Cadie!" Gabriel watched his sister and his wife hug, almost smiling if it wasn't for the angry cat in his arms who was currently scratching the hell out of him.

When Gabriel first started dating Elsie and told his parent's and sister that he had met his soulmate, he was sorta afraid about her meeting his family but it all went well and right there and then, Gabriel realized that not only was his soulmate supposed to complete him but also complete his family too. That his soulmate was supposed to not only match him but also match his family.
