CADENCE had a skip in her step this morning; and that, well, that was rare ever since she came onto this assignment to find Captain America and follow this new lead. There were many early mornings this past month of working and it didn't help that she was missing her brother and sister in law's journey towards parenthood and she wasn't there to be an avid soon-to-be aunt.

It sucked having to see new ultrasounds via text and only talking to the expecting couple at night for only 10 minutes at a time. Cadence always had some assignment work that had to be taken home (her hotel room as her temporary home) and her brother and sister-in-law were currently still in the midst of moving into their new house.

And the part that sucked the most? The one thing that Cadence missed the most while away?

Her cat, Geronimo. But Geronimo also wasn't just a cat either. He was her baby boy whom she adopted when he was just a kitten that was brought in to the vet and advertised on their Facebook page later. Geronimo, according to the vet, had been brought in one day in a cardboard box and the original owner didn't want any kittens when Geronimo's mother got pregnant.

So the owner packed up all five kittens and left them in an alley next to a grocery store instead of giving them to any of the local animal shelters. Apparently, it had been several days until the kittens were found and all but one of them had crawled out of the box. The one cat, that being Geronimo, couldn't get out and hadn't even opened his eyes when he was picked out and taken to the vet.

Cadence was only at the vet because one of her friends worked there and she was bringing her, and the whole staff at the vet, lunch. But when Cadence peered into the cardboard box to find this little grey Maine Coon-Munchkin kitten mix, her heart broke for the kitten who couldn't even stand up. After his swift recovery, Cadence adopted him and as a kitten, all he wanted to do was jump and leap from heights. He would meow without fail every single time before he jumped, thus having the name, Geronimo.

Now Cadence just wished she had him with her, in her arms so she wouldn't be so alone. She wished she would have his annoying yet cute meows and despite hating it, would have his litter box to cleanout.

But despite all the factors that could have Cadence hating this morning just like the dozen others in the past month, she didn't hate today. She didn't hate today because yesterday, Coulson (he insisted she call him Phil though) announced that they would be ready to travel soon. And by soon, he meant by the end of the week.

They were finally going to follow this lead and not be stuck at Headquarters, waiting around for more news. The only things that they were now waiting for were for their flights to be arranged, the itinerary to be made, and for everything to be packed up.
