i couldn't sleep at all last night. maybe for a few minutes but i didn't really get much. i sat next to kiannas bed holding her had gently and laying my head on the bed. kianna had woken up in the middle of the night. she's currently sleeping.
"i'm back." corbyn said returning with breakfast for us.
we all thank him and started eating. we made small talk here and there but everyone was pretty much frazzled as to what had happened yesterday. then all of a sudden two unfamiliar people walked in the room. a woman and a man who looked in their 40's maybe.
"mom dad!" kalea had whisper yelled since kianna was still sleeping.
her parents hugged each of them and then went up to kianna. a tear shed by her mother and a father.
"my sweet baby girl i love you." she said quietly kissing her head gently.
"what's your name?" her mom asked me.
"i'm daniel." i smiled.
"oh so you're the guy kianna talks about." she smiled.
i could feel my face heat up and i looked down.
"anyways mom and dad since you already know daniel this is zach, jack, jonah, corbyn, christina, gabbie and tate." kalea said pointing to each of us as she said our names."
"well it's very nice to meet you all i'm Kordel and this is McKenna. we can't thank you enough for your help with our little girl. i see some of you guys faught for her and i don't know what i can do to repay you guys. my little girls life was in danger but you saved her. i'm sorry you guys got hurt, i will fully pay for you medical bills if that helps whatsoever. i'm sorry for all the trauma this has caused you guys as well. you guys are so young and don't deserve this." her dad said.
"don't worry about it sir, we're all fine. just a few cuts and bruises. we don't know what we'd do without kianna in our lives as cheesy as it sounds. she changed all of us for the better and made us look at life differently." i replied.
"i'm glad to hear our daughter has had a huge impact on you lives. but you saved her so the least i can do is pay off your medical bills don't worry." he smiled.
we all thanked him and talked for a little bit.
"mom dad? what're you doing here?" we heard a soft voice. kianna.
"oh baby they told us everything, so we had to fly back and see if you were okay." her mom said rushing to her side.
"i honestly didn't even know what happened nobody explained anything to me yet." she said.
"well buckle up sis it's a long story." christina said.
~after explaining~
she had tears rolling down her face.
"i'm so sorry i put you guys through all of that. i didn't know. i'm sorry." she said.
"it's okay you're our friend and we came to help you, who knows what could've happened if we didn't get there on time or you didn't text us." i said trying to comfort her.
"anyways the doctor said that you guys could be discharged in tomorrow. they're just going to run through some tests with you and make sure there are no complications." kyler said.
she smiled faintly and looked down at the wrap
on her wrist. more tears start rolling down her face.
"hey hey hey don't worry you'll be back on the court before you know it. it's only september and you'll only be out for a few weeks it's just a sprain." kyler said noticing what was happening.
"you'll be better than ever for senior night if that helps." i smiled.
she looked up and smiled at me. ugh she's so cute.
the rest of the day we talked about what was going to happen and other things. our families had come and visited us as well. flying in from all over. there was about 30 of us in the hospital room right now. we fit comfortably we weren't to squished since the room was pretty big. everyone was catching up with everybody.
kiannas parents had made friends with all of our parents and told them that they would pay our medical bills. everyone was just happy that we were all safe now.
"you must be kianna!" anna said enthusiastically.
"yes that's me and you're?" she said.
"oh i'm sorry i'm anna daniel's sister." she said gesturing to me.
"oh i'm sorry. he hasn't told me your name he just told me that he had a sister." she laughed.
anna glared at me. "what? i knew that as soon as you guys would meet that you would take her from me and i didn't want you guys to meet through social media." i said.
"okay fine whatever." she said turning back to kianna.
they continued talked seeming to click. soon my whole family had made their way over to us.
"hi kianna! i'm keri, this is jeff, you know tyler and this christian. we're daniels family." my mom said super cheery.
"hi it's nice to meet you all! if i had known i was going to meet you guys today i would've dressed up a bit more." she joked.
a slight laughter had hit everyone. then my mom whispered something in her ear causing kianna to giggle. i wonder what she said.
"how long are you guys going to be in town for?" i asked.
"we don't know probably a week. we've gotten an air b&b with the other families to stay in not to far from your house." my dad replied.
"oh alright then." i smiled.
then they continued to talk to kianna. seeming to get along well which made me happy.
