it's finally thanksgiving. i've been pretty busy with traveling and school. our record is currently 31-5 which isn't bad. but after this week we have state since we were region champs. zach still hasn't asked out kay and he has to do it by the end of this week or else i'm going to lose the bet.
however she's been hanging out with us a lot more. she's very sweet. right now my family and i are preparing for the thanksgiving party that's about to happen. since my family is big and we're always together she just resorted to having parties instead of having dinners. my parents flew in yesterday and are currently cleaning.
"are the boys coming?" kalea asked.
"yes and their families as well, they all flew down here for the rest of the holiday season." i said.
"alright i better make fruit salad for daniel." she laughed.
"he loves fruit salad so much it's crazy. he always asks me to make it."
"teach him how to make it then it's not that hard and i know you know how to make it. it's just fruit, condensed milk, evaporated milk and like cool whip." she said.
"maybe one day." i smiled as i was opening up the fridge.
people started piling in. once almost everyone was there gramma sally blessed the food like usual. then we all dug in.
"this is my first thanksgiving party." daniel whispered into my ear as we waiting in line for food.
"well i'm glad your first thanksgiving party is with me and my family." i smiled giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"it's crazy how our culture and lives are so different." he said.
"well my family is very big like i don't even know half of my family. my grandparents on both sides had a lot of siblings and were all very close, pretty much everyone is considered family even if they're like a 3rd cousin or something." i explained.
"i have a pretty big family too but we don't hang out with our extended family as much." he chuckled.
"well you have my extended family." i joked.
"OH MY GOSH FRUIT SALAD!" daniel said in excitement once we walked passed the deserts.
i laughed and said "finish your food before you can get desert."
he pouted and we sat down on the living room engulfing in a conversation with people.
"kianna!" keri said.
"hi keri are you enjoying the party?" i asked.
"yes! i love your family they're so kind and opening." she smiled giving me a hug.
"the same with your family." i said as we pulled a part.
we continued talking for a little bit until my mom asked me to sing. i couldn't say no because they kept begging me and my mom gave me the mic.
"alright okay." i said while putting in the numbers to if i ain't got you by alicia keys.
the intro started and my family started cheering even though i haven't sung a word yet causing me to laugh.
"some people live for the fortune, some people live just for the fame, some people live for the power yeahhh, some people live just to play the game." i sang as i could feel the cameras on me.
i walked over to daniel as i sang and made him stand up. i walked us to the middle of the living room where everyone could see us and laced our fingers together.
