I heard Helen crying on the other side of the phone.

"What happened Helen?" I worried.

"Amber is admitted to hospital." She said sobbing. My heart filled with a sort of pain and fear in my back.

"Why? Is she fine? Tell me that everything is okay please." My voice went low.

"Her condition is serious." She sobbed again.

I don't know how to react anymore.

"I'm coming," I said and cut the call.

I went to my dad's room, he's busy with his office work but went close to him hugged him from aside.

I actually never cared about my mom but these few months changed my feelings for her. I saw her struggling with her health issues, her bed smells like medicines. I felt bad for her, I started crying and in between my sobs, I told him about her.

We both decided to reach Texas as fast as we can. Dad booked tickets for both of us, for the afternoon flight. He's coming with me because I'm not strong enough to handle this situation alone.

I sat quietly on my seat on the flight, praying for the good. Dad stayed silent, I hope he's fine but he looked a bit worried. Maybe he's uncomfortable coming there.

Almost 3hrs, we reached Austin Texas, we didn't bother to call anyone from the mansion, we took a cab and went straight to the hospital where my mom is admitted.

The climate is cloudy, dark and strange when we reached the hospital. I felt heavy I don't know why, I hold my dad's hand tightly. We walked inside to the reception and asked for my mom.

The receptionist gave us a pitiful smile before telling us the way to her room. We walked according to her instructions, my heart pumping heavily.

Why I'm feeling tense?

As we walked close to the room, I felt weird. Something in my stomach, nauseous. I saw Helen standing at the end of the corridor. Luis and Erin were there too but they stood at a distance. Lynsey and Loran were sitting in the chairs before the room. Lynsey ran into me crying when she saw me coming close. I rubbed her back gently and looked at my dad with tears.

He gestured to let's go inside, I made Lynsey sit next to Loran. He holds her, he's crying too. My heart melted looking at them like this. We walked inside the room, mom is laying on the bed. Mr Daniel stood next to her holding her hand gently rubbing her hand.

He gave us a look and dad released my hand. I walked close to her, the room is silent except for the sound of the heart monitor, it's beeping slowly. Her body is connected with different wires, pipes and tubes, her nostrils attached to a pipe, and another pipe behind her palm.

Her face looked lifeless, she's not conscious. No one tried to talk, dad slowly stepped close to me and stood behind me.

Why is no one talking? This silence making me panic.

We stood there still and my mom slowly opened her eyes to look at Mr Daniel.

"Look over there." He said with his rough but soft voice.

She slowly turned her head towards me and saw dad behind me, I hold her palm and gave her a little squeeze. She gave us a small smile, her eyes shimmering with tears. I don't know whether she's happy or sad. I want to hear her voice, she turned her face slightly to look at Mr Daniel. And then the heart monitor beeping sound stopped.

It is stopped.

"Sorry, she's no more." I heard the doctor say with a gentle voice and he left the room.
