My dad welcomed me with a bright smile and hugged me tight as soon as he saw me. He examined my face, I hope he doesn't notice anything. He didn't say anything, we walked out of the airport to our car.
"Mr Jones" I squeal with excitement when I saw my grandpa as he opened the door when we reached home. He hugged me tightly.
"Missed you so much." He said.
"Me too, where is grandma?" I asked looking around for her.
"She's in the kitchen." He said with a smile.I went to see my grandma in the kitchen but I saw another lady along with her. She looked like she's in her thirties.
"Hey!" I said with amusement they were busy baking something.
"Oh! There you are, how are you, my girl?" Grandma said and took me into her hug.
"Who's she?" I whispered in her ears between our hug.
"You better ask this question to your dad." She mumbled.Wait what? My dad is dating her? I smiled at the unknown lady. She stretched her hand,
"Hi Neely, I'm Barbara, your dad's friend." She said and smiled. I shake my hands with her.
"Nice to meet you." I gave her a weird smile.
"We are baking your favourite cookies." My grandma said.I left the kitchen and went to my room. It's been a long time being in my room. I felt good. I tried to take a quick nap and closed my eyes.
We had dinner together, along with Barbara. She's nice and sweet. I didn't talk much with her but she kept talking with my dad. It felt new, my dad with someone else.
I didn't try to ask him about her, I decided to talk about it later. I went back to my room saying to everyone I'm a little tired and I need to sleep. I don't want them to notice my misery, it's better to stay like this until I feel better.
I took my phone and I saw two missed call notifications from Shane. What is this guy up to? I fell on my bed and completely covered my body with the duvet. Then my phone started ringing, my heart wants to see Erin name on the screen but sadly it is Shane again.
"What?" I lift the call and split.
"I'm missing you." He said.
"What the hell!" I mumble. I heard him laugh lightly.
"I said what I feel." He said.
"Okay bye!" I snap.
"Come on! Please. Are you still angry with me?" He asked me in a soft voice.
"Yes." I snap again.
"I'm really sorry. Can't you forgive me?" He pleaded.
"No." I split.
"Please." He said.
"Ugh! You are irritating me you know, with your voice." I said.
"Can I visit your place on Christmas?" He asked.
"Why?" I yell lightly.
"Don't you invite me?" He asked.
"No, I won't. I'll invite Erin." I snapped.
"Really! Is he coming?" He asked with curiosity.
"No, I didn't ask him yet." I cleared.
"Okay, then I'll bring him along with me." He said, I frowned my eyebrows and scoot out from the bed.
"What? Are you serious?" I asked.
"Yeah, if you want. I will do anything." He stated.
"No. Stay in Texas. But invite Erin to your house on Christmas Eve." Those words just escaped from my mouth.
