People I Don't Know

New life

Rachel told me that she will wait for me in her car, so I got down the car and I walked into the mansion. First of all, I need to talk with Mr Daniel, I felt nervous because I never had a big conversation with him before.

I walked into the living room, I felt relieved when I didn't come across Luis or his friend. Helen smiled at me and walked towards her. She told me that she packed all my things.

"You can stay here, I think Mr Daniel has no problem with it." She said.

"Umm... But you know... I can't stay here." I don't know how to explain how I feel.

"He's in his room." She informed.

"Okay, I'll go and talk with him," I said and walked towards his room.

I knocked on the door before entering, he told me to come in. He's sitting on a couch with files in his hand. He gave me a big smile when he saw me, which made me relax. He told me to take a seat, I sat facing him trying to start a conversation.

"Helen told me that you are going to live with your friends in an apparent. Is that true?" He asked straight.

"Yes, I came to pick up my things and inform you before I leave," I said politely.

"But why? You can stay here. We don't have any problem with that." He said.

I don't know what to say...

"I just want a change." I almost whispered.

"Umm... I understand. But you are always welcome here. This is your mom's house, don't forget that." He said and my heartfelt warmth.

"Thank you." I smiled.

"So, how's everything going on? How are going to manage the bills?" He asked.

"I have to look for a part-time job," I said and he smiled.

"Don't worry, I'll help you with that." He said and I raised my eyebrows.

"Thank you so much. It would be great." I told him with a smile. I can't thank him enough, he always stays above my expectations.

"I hope you are doing well," I mumbled looking at him.

"Um... I'm trying to. But this place is full of her memories." He said with his rough voice. He will miss her for a while.

"I'll be fine, but it is a great loss for you, I mean.. you, Logan and Lynsey. Losing mother." He said and stayed silent for a moment.

"You need to come out of this." He said looking at me. I smiled.

"Sure," I said standing up.

"Thank you so much for everything," I told him and he smiled.

"You doesn't have to, see you around." He said and I turned back to walk out of his room.

I walked back into the living room and started walking towards the staircase. When I reach the staircase I saw Erin, coming down through the steps. I quickly looked down at my feet, I need to ignore him. I walked slowly on the stairs, while crossing him I looked at him through my eyelashes.

"Neel." I heard Erin calling my name from my back.

It is the first time he called me with my name, my breath choked. I tried my best not to look back, my name with his voice felt new. I controlled myself and walked upstairs. I know Erin will come upstairs for me, I don't know how to face him. But thanks to Luis, he just encountered me.

"Hey!" He yelled.
"Hi!" I smiled. He gave me a look and looked at my back to see Erin.
"Well, how's your new apartment?" He teased.
"Great!" I walked into my room, okay not my room anymore. Luis and Erin followed me as well.
