(Y/n) woke up in her room half expecting Contra to be there, but he wasn't. She was surprised he listened to her by staying away and gave her the chance to make her plans.

There was no way in hell (Y/n) was staying there for too much longer. There were answers that she needed and to find them she needed to travel. All the books, well, most of the books Olivia had given her daughter to read came from the same spot, Salem, Massachusetts.

The idea that these books came from the infamous Salem Witch Trials did anything but spark excitement for (Y/n). She hated when people, demons, or anyone referred to them as Witches. They didn't wear pointy hats or have a spellbook or anything of the sorts.

This possibly was the best disguise for their location. Who would possibly think that they would hide their books, libraries there? Stereotypes likely, but not many others. The town was a good cover.

The only thing she had to do now was to convince Contra to go along with her. Anything that got her away from the house was a good plan to him though.

A day turned to evening the sun began to set across the forest and the homes near it. (Y/n) packed up her backpack with essentials for the trip over. She'd hope that visit would only be 2 maybe 3 days tops but a 5 hours flight would be the struggle.

With a deep breath and a fully charged phone (Y/n) walked out of her room. She checked for signs of her mother who seemed to be in the kitchen doing dishes. While she wasn't looking her hands gripped her staff near the front door.

As her hands touched the curves of the oak Olivia spoke up, "Not enough answers, huh?"

(Y/n)'s head snapped to her direction, "What are you talking about?"

She sighed and turned around to face her daughter, "I was the same way, (Y/n). I thought my mom could tell me everything I needed to know."

(Y/n) sat in silence leaning onto the staff and staring at the floor.

"I can't stop you from leaving, and I won't, but I do want you to be safe. Don't let that staff out of your sight, alright?"

The young Protector nodded then rushed out the door.

She ran into the woods behind the house with the sunset leading the way. A smile grew on her face as she was going to find the answers she wanted. If everything went as planned Contra should be waiting at the sock on the fallen tree.

(Y/n)'s watch read 5:55 as she arrived in the area. It was pretty quiet until the birds flew off from her arrival. There was little wind that blew across the trees and the sound of a running creek.

"Contra!" She called out. "Come here, I have some news!"

A hand touched (Y/n)'s shoulder causing her to flip around and swing her staff barely missing Contra.

"What the fock are ye doing!?"

"What the hell is going on!?" She held the staff like a bat, ready to swing again. "Why are you solid? Where is your gas form!"

He held up his hands in defense. "Why are ye swingin' that shit?"

"Because you're solid without my powers! Wait —" She paused. "Anti you didn't..." Her arms dropped to her side. "I read about this last night. You brought your human here! Why would you drag your human halfway across the world?" She dragged a hand down the side of her face while rolling her eyes.

"HEY, I did what I had to do. Ye need me help and that's that." Contra crossed his arms.

"Well, it's pointless now! I'm not staying here much longer, Contra, I'm going to Massachusetts."
