Today's chapter features XXxCallieGatesxXX Original Character "Silentium".________________
The rock wall was smooth sailing.
(Y/n) tossed her staff over then climbed over herself landing on the soft grass.
The cemetery was barely lit if at all. Within the small amount of light, there were old tombstones stuck out of the ground looking thin and brittler. The words on some were barely legible which could pose as a problem. One of the stones was a fake burial site meant to hold some books of the Protectors. They were buried because they were not meant to be read again as it was 'Putting the past to rest' according to Mia.
That wasn't going to stop the young protector eager for knowledge on her people and more so demons themselves.
Pulling out her phone's flashlight she found the dirt path in the middle of the cemetery and began to walk along with it. The tombstone she was looking for said "In loving memory of a Father, Mother, Sister, Brother, Aunt, Uncle and the Cousins in-between" with no year on the stone.
Without her mother's ignorant guidance she would never know where to look.
"What are we looking for?" Mark whispered from behind her.
(Y/n) jumped dropping her phone and clutching hard to her staff. Within a moment she whipped the stick around almost hitting Mark who ducked.
"Woah! Woah! Dude, watch it!"
"What are you here!?" She huffed air trying to calm down.
"I saw you come in the cemetery." He held his hands up, "I thought something was wrong or someone took you."
Her staff lowered, "What? No, no one took me."
"Well, I wouldn't want to be the guy that does! You almost knocked my head off."
(Y/n) glared at him then picked up her phone and walked away, "Then maybe you shouldn't sneak up on people like that. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a tombstone to find."
Mark ran in front of her making her stop once more. "Hey, wait, maybe I can help you?"
"Why would you want to help me, you don't even know me?" She continued on past him, "Go catch up with the group."
"I don't know who you are, but I know what you are."
(Y/n) froze in her tracks and turned back towards him, "What am I?"
He walked into the light and seemed different. Then she saw his eyes, they were deep red and somewhat glowed. "Your people go by many names, but I suppose Protectors will do."
His mannerisms and tone changed in an instant. She didn't feel as though this was Mark anymore, and the longer she stared at him the more she didn't believe it was this 'Mark' person at all.
"Was it the staff?" She smirked, "Or do you know me as most other Demons do."
"Ah, very wise." He began to approach her, "As expected from your bloodline."
(Y/n) held up her staff pointing it directly at him, "What do you want, Mark?"
"Please, call me Dark. My human is Mark."
"I asked you a question." Her grip tightened.
"Temper temper," He smiled, "I'm not here to hurt you. I'm here to help you. You see, you're being targeted by other demons."
