Storms were in the forecast within the following days. During the day they weren't bad usually calmed down before the night time. Even some sun peaked through once or twice a day.

Night rolled in and the storms hadn't lifted. They'd gone on for hours and now thunder was picking up over her area.

Normally (Y/n) would enjoy nights like these, but her father had passed on a night very similar to this one. It had been the first storm since his passing and that didn't help her situation.

Putting on a brave face she tried to treat the night as normal as possible going about locking up and settling down in her room. She slept with old Christmas lights that hung across the ceiling from corner to corner. It lit it up decently and helped her keep calm.

She spent her time slightly under the covers with her phone close by scrolling through useless social media as it rained. The storm raged on outside and then the lights flickered.

She sat up for a moment and waited. They flickered again.

"No, no no no, please, don't you dare."

(Y/n) cursed the lights pleading with them not to go out. Her fists gripped the blankets waiting for something to happen. Seconds later she grabbed her staff which was laid under her pillows.

The lights flickered once again and fear was now taking over her body causing it to tremble.

She remembered Dark's words as his bloodstain came into view.

"Come on, just answer, just do something!"

(Y/n) wasn't exactly sure what would happen or how to make it happen but hope was draining as the atmosphere remained still. The lights flickered again, then they finally went out.

She shrieked and pulled her covered over her head. Thunder shook the house as rain pelted against it.

"This is a pathetic sight," Dark chuckled.

The covers flipped back and (Y/n) immediately sat up, tears in her eyes.

Dark's eyes glowed red in the dark illuminating part of his face. He had a devilish smirk on his face but to her, it was a relief.

"Oh thank god you're here..." She dragged her hands down her face.

"How old are you again Miss (Y/n)?"

She looked over at him as lightning lit up the room and momentarily illuminated her face showing the tears staining them. His smile faded to a grim line before he spoke.

"A simple storm is causing you to become this upset? As a protector, I expected much more from you."

"It's not just the storm you ignorant ass." She pulled the covers down and stood up with her staff in hand. "Not that you care but my dad's death kind of fucked me up and it hasn't stormed like this since he died. I'm on edge."

(Y/n) walked out of her room with Dark walking behind her.

"You humans and your ridiculous mental states. So weak." He rolled his eyes.

"Weak or not you still came here."

"You summoned me, it was barely by choice."

She stopped abruptly and turned towards him, "Then what's keeping you here?"

He was taken back by the question and pulled an answer out of his ass, "Because if I leave now you will summon me again, and again, and again until the storm ceases."

"Fair enough, but, — wait —" She reached out and lightly pushed his chest, he was solid. "why did you bring Mark here!"

"I cannot do much as a floating cloud. Mark's body had adequate strength if I need to use it. One of the few characteristics of him I admire. That being said, I came prepared so to say."
