The handle on the front door began to jiggle. All 3 looked at one another with big eyes.
"You guys need to go, NOW!" (Y/n) spoke urgently. "My mom's home."
The demons took her demand a little too seriously as they leaped out of their human's bodies and returned to a smokey form. The bodies of Sean and Mark drooped to the ground.
"You idiots! That's not what I meant! What am I going to do with the bodies!"
She could see their eyes which held no emotion but did however stay close to her.
"No, both of you, hide, you're literally just a fart, go!"
Contra didn't waste any time and dashed to her room. Dark looked around before taking his place inside of a teddy bear on the sofa.
(Y/n) looked at Mark to see him coming to, rubbing his eyes and groaning.
"Mark!" She moved to his side and shook his shoulders.
"What time is it? Where am I?"
"There's no time. You're at my house. My mom's about to come home. You need to get up and pretend you're my friend or something or hide!"
"Huh? Hide?" He rubbed his eyes then spotted Sean on the other couch. "What about Sean?" He rolled with the situation.
(Y/n) looked over to see him still passed out.
"Hurry! Get up and help me grab him. We don't have time."
"Ugh, I just got up, I don't know what's going on I —"
"No time!"
She stood up and pulled him by his shirt to Sean. Mark grabbed under his arms and (Y/n) grabbed his legs. They hoisted him up and quickly pulled him into the hallway to the utility closet.
"Push him in!"
"I'm trying!"
Putting a practically dead body inside a closet wasn't the easiest thing to do, but they were able to get it done. They shoved him in and shut the door behind. Sean's body fell against the door.
The two breathed heavily.
"(Y/n)?" Olivia bragged out as she entered the home.
"Hi mom!" She called back, "Mark, follow my lead."
"Hi, (Y/n), I came home as soon as I woke up this morning." She rushed up the steps to greet her daughter, "Are you okay? Did you feel what happened last night?"
"Yes, I did." She saw the worry on her mothers face, "I'm okay though, I promise."
Olivia held her daughters face, "Oh thank heavens. We were so worried about you."
"Mia?"
"Yes, Mia. It knocked us both out. Do you know what happened? Here I'll explain it to you come sit over —"
"Mom," (Y/n) interrupted, "I know what happened. The demon's attacked the barrier."
"How did you know?"
"It was in one of those books," She lied. "I — have something to show you — well, two things.."
"You don't look so — eager to tell me."
"I guess that's where I come in!" Mark popped out from behind (Y/n), "Hi, I'm Mark!"
"Mom, this is Mark. He's a new friend of mine. He came over this morning to make sure I was okay."
Olivia looked Mark up and down. (Y/n) was nervous that she would feel something strange or notice something was up.
"How did you two meet?" She crossed her arms.
