Adopting a dinosaur

Monday the start of the week I jump out of bed hearing the song Jump Up Super Star! "Today will be a good one I just feel it!" I cheer singing a simple tune as I head into the bathroom making sure i'm presentable before grabbing a loose hoodie and some shorts while slipping on some sandals as I head downstairs.

With the music coming from my phone I head into the kitchen preparing some snacks of cheeze its,popcorn and some juice pack setting them down on the kitchen table if they get hungry as I enter the living room I grin spotting Kid and Ace rivaling each other in nintendo switch Splatoon and so far Ace is winning.

"Well aren't you guys up and early" I chime from behind as Ace turns grinning hugging my waist as I laugh ruffling his hair as Kid pouts before hugging my side saying "Ace beat me it's not fair!" I chuckle at Kid's childish antics before grabbing a controller saying "Best two out of three?" both boys grin determined looks before rushing over as we play with the nintendo switch hooked up to the tv.

"NO way!" Ace and Kid shout in shock as I won all three matches in a row I chuckle crossing my arms behind my head saying "You have a couple years before you'll beat me at video games!" the two pout as I sigh before saying "Theres snacks in the kitchen" the two light up dashing to get their food as the doorbell rings huh maybe it's Franky and Iceburg.

Opening the door I see a concerned looking Rocinante? "Woah what happened Roci?" I ask the older man as he franticall scribbles a note showing it to me 'Drake hasn't shown up today and i'm worried!' my eyes darken as I nod before calling out "Ace watch Kid i'll be back soon Rocinanate will watch you" I hear a mumbled "Yeah ok" as I point Rocinanate to the kitchen as I set off on foot using my leopard senses trying to catch Drake's scent as Rocinante calls out "His father is a gang member!" I wave in thanks knowing what area to start now.

Deciding to speed up the process I transform into Snow Leopard normal mode on all fours I jump super high landing on a nearby roof top as I push my strong muscles jumping from roof to rooftop torward the red light district. I never liked this place and I can't believe kids can grow up in such crappy conditions!

Stopping at the gate I catch Drake's scent it's faint but as I follow it through alleyways it grows stronger,turning in and out people back out of my way who wouldn't a Snow Leopard as big as a horse walking through the city streets? Hearing small whimpers ahead I stop eyes narrowing at the run down building I jump onto the window sill peering inside I growl seeing Drake's father shouting at him "Your such a failure you think I wouldn't find out you were training to become a marine!" Drake is curled in a ball hiding his face in shame.

The so called father of Drake moves and raises his hand as he prepares to slap Drake but he doesn't get any farther as I smash through the window fur getting cut as I grab the man's hand in beast man form on my hind paws I tower over both males as Drakes father looks up at me in fear while Drake has tears in his eyes. "Don't you ever raise a hand against Drake again,even better never call yourself a parent and get the HELL OUT OF HERE!" I roar as the man scrambles quickly out of the door as Drake moves clutching my waist tears falling as I gently with my paw pet his orange hair making sure not to hurt him.

"Come on let's go,I don't trust you in his care so i'm adopting you" I grunt out picking Drake up jumping out the window back the way I came to the daycare as Drake looks up at me saying "Really? That means I never have to see him again?" I nod eyes glazed no kid deserves to grow up like that not even the child of a demon like Drakes father.

I'm dissapointed in mankind but I will do my best to raise Drake,looking down Drake is trembling still shaken from the encounter something tells me this isn't the first time he was going to be hurt by that man. "I won't press you to tell me what happened but i'm taking care of you know so trust me" I whisper transforming hybrid point touching down in front of the Daycare as Ace and Kid run out spotting Drake in my arms trembeling as Franky and Iceburg walk out with Rocinante.
