The World Is Waking Up

Seeing those hopeless eyes
Hearing those remorseful cries
I begged lord to stop

We pray good for us
Did we ever look at the outside world
Next time keep the window open when you travelling in a bus

To see the social evils
Not only poverty
The children working at the mills

Life could be tough sometimes
Some people don't want to be
The main character of their own lives

We see gender inequality
We see mob lynching
Helpless prisoners of war

The rich gets richer
The poor gets poorer
Innocent people suffer

With the coming of democracy
Paving it's way in different countries
A hope of joy and ecstacy

New generation, the old and conservative
Injustice may be way more powerful
But in the end justice triumphs
As the world is waking up

{ Writer's note :
This poem is really special because it is one my first poems to get published in an international anthology.
Hope you like it. }
