Chapter 18

Maia's POV

*The Next Day*

I woke up at 9.30am; Luke and Austin were coming at 10am.

I have made a decision and I'm certain it's the right one. Luke and Austin walked into the room at the same time.

"Hey" I said.

"Hey" they said at the same time.

"Okay there's no easy way of saying this but I have made a decision." I said. "It took ages to make it and I'm certain it's the right one. Austin you're a great guy but what I have with Luke is nothing like what we had before, I'm sorry" I said. "Is it alright if I have time with Luke and I will talk to you after?" I asked. He nodded his head understandingly and then he walked out of the room.

"Hey, thank you for everything" He said and kissed me on the lips.

"I missed you I guess" I said. "We are meant to be together and words can't describe how much I love you" I said.

"I love you too and everything happens or a reason" he said.

"That is so true!" I said.

Luke is everything in one person. He's kind, caring, lovely to be around, he has a good personality and there's so much more I could say about him. The decision has been him all along. Don't get me wrong they are both amazing guys. It will always be Luke.

"You can stick around until I get released from the hospital" I said.

"Of course I'm going to do that!" He said. I chuckled.

"You can come back in later. I'm going to have a word with Austin" I said. Luke kissed me on the lips and then walked out of the room. Austin walked in.

"Hey, sorry it wasn't you. You're a great guy but I'm not the one for you. You'll find her one day but it's not me" I said.

"It's fine" he said.

"How are your parents?" I asked.

"Not good. Dads moving out today, I should get going to say goodbye to him" he said.

"Yeah! I should be out of the hospital today, we can catch up when I'm out" I said.

"Yeah I will like that." He said. "I need to go, I will text you later" He said and gave me a sad smile. Luke walked back in after that.

"That was harder than I thought it was" I said.

"It'll be alright babes" he said.

"I can't wait to get out of this place and go back to school" I said.

"Not long now" he said.

"Oh shit, I was meant to text Eve which one I chose" I said picking my phone of the side and texting her.

To Eve:

Hey come to the hospital, I have news! :) xxxx

From Eve: Okay, I'm coming! xxxxx

I put my phone back on the side.

"Okay I've texted Eve and she's coming" I said to Luke.

"Ooooohh nice! Does she know it's me?" He asked.

"Nope, she'll find out when she gets here" I said.

"Ooohhh surprises! I like them" Luke randomly said.

The doctor walked in then.

"Okay, you seem alright apart from your cancer and you're free to go" he said. He unhooked me from all the machines and I got changed. I waited out in the waiting room for Eve to come.

"Did you pick up your chemo tablets?" Luke asked me.

"Yeah they're in my bag along with my laptop, DVDs and clothes" I said. Then Eve came in.

"Hey, you free to go?" She asked.

"Yeah! I have news as well! Luke was the one" I said. She basically screamed with happiness.

"Aww I'm so happy for you guys" She said. "Come here both of you" she pulled us both in for a hug. After a few seconds we pulled away.

"Luke is going to give me a lift home and we will watch films and chill" I said.

"You coming back to school soon?" Eve asked me.

"Yeah when I'm ready or when I get bored, I will go on my good days but there will be other days when my chemo just drowns me out. I will probably go on Monday" I said.

"Yeah it'll be nice to see you! Shall we go?" Eve asked.

"Yeah please" I said and we walked out of the hospital. When we were by the car we said goodbye to Eve and then Luke and I left to go back to mine.

When we got home we went to my room and started watching movies.

"When you lose your hair are you going to wear a wig?" Luke randomly asked.

"I don't know, I wore hats before but I will probably wear a wig out, why?" I asked.

"Because you won't need to wear one, you're beautiful just the way you are" he said.

"Awwww thank you babes! I will stick to hats! My head gets cold anyway" I said.

I took my chemo tablets and it was about 10pm.

"I should go, it's getting late but we can go somewhere tomorrow if you want?" He asked. I nodded.

"Alright honey, I will see you tomorrow" I said as he pecked me on the lips and lift my room. He can later himself out I thought to myself. I then got ready for bed and drifted off I to a deep sleep.

*The next day*

I woke up at 10pm and walked downstairs with my oxygen sack dragging behind me. I ate breakfast and went back up to my room to check my phone. Luke had texted me saying that we are going for a walk. I couldn't argue with that. I met him at the park and we walked around for a bit talking about anything and everything. I didn't need anything all I needed was him.

"I haven't got you a present recently, what do you want?" He asked me as we walked down the high street of the city.

"I don't need anything. All I want it you" I simply said. He smiled and so did I. He softly kissed my lips and we carried on walking. That was the best day ever.
