Chapter 15

Austin's POV

Luke walked out of Maia's room so I walked in. 

"Hey, you feeling better?" I asked. 

"Yeah a bit, I'm tired though" she replied. 

"Yeah well I'm going to go and let you get some rest, I will come and see you tomorrow" I said and then walked out of the room. 

Maia's POV

I don't know what to do. I wish Eve was here to understand my situation. I went out with Austin but at heart he's a good guy and he didn't mean to hurt me, he was drunk. Luke on the other hand is the best boyfriend I could ask for. My phone was next to me on the side. I picked it up and decided to text Eve. 

To Eve:

Hey I'm awake after 6 months! I would love to see you, come to the hospital soon! xxx

She texted back really quickly. 

From Eve: 

I'm on my way! xxx

After 2 minutes Eve arrived and walked into my room with her oxygen sack behind her.

"Hey" She said. 

"Hey, I have a few things to tell you" I said. "First my cancer has come back but this time I'm having chemo. Secondly, when I was in a coma Austin said he liked me so I questioned him about it when I woke up but he said I belong with Luke and now I don't know what to do" I said. 

"Wow. Okay I have an idea" She said sitting down on my bed. "Do you have any paper?" she asked. 

"Yeah there's some on the side that Luke left" I said. She got the paper and a pen which was next to it. 

"Okay I want you to write down what you like about Luke and what you like about Austin" she said. 

 I did what she asked. It was harder to think about what I like about Austin but I got there in the end. In the end they both came out with the same number. Is it even possible to like 2 people at once? I wanted to give up but I knew that wouldn't get me anywhere. 

"I thought I liked Luke but then Austin walked back into my life and now I don't know. I wish I could choose between them but they're both great guys and I don't want to lose any of them and that's what I'm scared of doing. I'm scared of pushing them away Eve. I don't know what to do anymore" I said sighing. 

"Honey, it gets better. It may feel like you're making a huge decision but both of them are there for you and they always will be. You should try and get some sleep. You can always phone me if you can't sleep" she said. 

"Luke said that already but thank you. I need to sleep on it. I will make my decision tomorrow. Please come and see me tomorrow. Luke and Austin might be here but you can always kick them out" I said jokily. She stood up off the bed. 

"Yeah I will don't worry!" she said. " I should go and you should get some sleep. It's been nice to see you and to talk to you" she said and then left the room. 

Luke or Austin? Austin or Luke? Well I'm already with Luke it'll be harsh to break up with him and then go out with Austin. Ugh, I give up. I'm going to get some sleep and think about it in the morning! 

I closed my eyes and drifted of into a deep sleep. 

*The next day*

I woke up around 9am and ate breakfast when I was ready. Luke was here first and the Eve turned up and I wanted to speak to her so she came in first. 

"Morning!" She chirped walking in. "Thank you for seeing me first" she said. 

"Hello? I still have a problem here!" I said worried. 

"It'll be alright. You need to take it seriously and talk to them like an adult. Explain your situation and I'm sure they will understand" she said. 

"You're right. I will do it when I'm out of the hospital" I said. 

"No! Do it now because later becomes never" she said and I sighed. 

"Fine! Is Austin here?" I asked her. she nodded. "Okay I will do it now. Get out so they can come in!" she walked out of the room and the boys walked in. I took in a deep breath and slowly started. 

"Okay, here's the thing. You are both amazing guys and Austin I know you like me but the truth is: I can't chose between you two. You both have turned my life upside down. Luke you have been an amazing boyfriend but I don't wan't to make Austin do something stupid like kiss me. I just need time to think and I know you'll both always be there for me but I need to focus on getting better than deciding on who I should chose between two great guys. I'm sorry. I just need time and space. You can come back tomorrow but please don't push me for an answer" I said. They nodded understandingly. 

"Question: Can we both kiss you on the lips?" Austin said. 

"Only if it's alright with Luke" I said. Austin looked at Luke and he nodded. 

"If you two don't mind, I need to talk to Eve" I said. They nodded. 

"You can come back tomorrow" I said. 

Austin walked over to me and pecked me on the lips. Luke did the same. They then both walked out of the room. 

Eve walked in. 

"That was the hardest thing ever!" I said. 

"I know but you did well babes" she said. "Did they both kiss you on the lips?" she asked. I nodded. 

"Well I suppose it helps my decision about who I like more but I felt the same with both of them" I said to her. 

"You'll be fine. Try not to think about it and focus on getting better" She said. "Anyway I gotta go and let you get some rest. I will visit later and you can tell me more about Austin and Luke" she said before walking out of the room.
