Chapter 11

Luke's POV

I dropped Eve off at her house and then went back to Maia's just to hang out with her or a bit.

I walked into her house an into the kitchen grabbing a biscuit on the way up to her room. Her door was slightly open an I could here her playing her guitar and singing. She was singing 'I'm a mess' by Ed Sheeran. I stood and listened for a minute. She was so good at singing, I wish she would put herself more out there and play at some places like a coffee shop. I walked in and she was sat on her bed strumming her guitar.

"You do know, you're actually really good?" I said.

"I'm not that good" she said. I sat down beside her.

"Hey, a little bit of self belief goes a long way" I said.

"Yeah I know, I just don't think I'm good enough" she said.

"Play me something?" I asked. I pulled out my iPhone and recorded her voice without letting her know about it.

She played thinking out Loud by Ed Sheeran.

"I'm going to show you how good you are" I said pulling my phone out and showed her the recording.

"I sound horrible" she said.

"You're only saying that because you don't like the sound of your voice. You have a lovely voice and I'm not just saying that. Maybe you should apply for X factor?"

"Yeah maybe, I don't know. I need time to think about it"

"Do you want me to go?" I asked standing up.

"If that's alright?" She said.

"Of course or is. I will support your decision no matter what, I love you babe" I said and the kissed her on the cheek

"I love you too" she quietly said.

I walked out if the room and down the hall to the front door. I then drove home.

When I got there I picked up my guitar and started playing all of me by John legend. I loved this song and it reminded me of Maia.

After that song I played a few others when an idea came into my head. I stood up taking my guitar with me, I walked out the house and into the car where I drove to Maia's. I got out of my car taking my guitar with me and walked straight into her house and up to here her room was. Softly I knocked oh her door and I walked in.

"Hey sorry, I had the most crazy idea when I was playing my guitar" I told her.

"What was it?" She asked.

"We could do a duet?" I said and she smiled. "We could pick out a few songs try them out I can harmonise with them and we could just have a lot of fun?"

"Yeah sure, what songs?" she asked.

"I have a list. I'm a mess by ed Sheeran, somebody that I used to know by Gotye, titanium by David Guetta, I won't give up by Jason Mraz, all of me by John legend, bonfire heart by James Blunt. Would you like anymore?" I asked. She shook her head.

"What about a song that means something to us as a couple? Something like Hallelujah where I could do the tune and you could do a harmony underneath it?"

"Sounds good. What about broken strings? Or say something?" I suggested.

"How about we try out a whole load of songs and see which ones sounds good and which ones don't?" She suggested.

"Okay deal" I said.

We spent hours in her room finding chords, working out harmonies, having a laugh and making music all at the same time it was amazing. It was getting late and I had to get back home to see mum and dad and go to bed, so I left just before 10pm.

"I will see you later, same thing tomorrow?" I asked her.

"Of course" she replied.

She walked me to the front door and I got back in re car and drove home.

Maia's POV

When Luke left I was actually really sad as I enjoyed him coming over and working on a couple of songs with him. I can't wait until tomorrow! Suddenly a wave of tiredness swept over me and I knew that I needed to sleep. I got ready for bed and into bed by 11pm which is a bit late for me but at least I had a good evening. I had to wake up early for school tomorrow. Thinking of all the events that happened today, I was eaten up by a deep sleep.

I woke up early the next day and got ready to go to school. I wore skinny jeans with blue Vans and a white off the shoulder top with a white vest top underneath. I walked downstairs with my oxygen sack dragging behind me and picked up an apple from the fruit bowl. Luke was waiting for me so I walked out of the house and I got into the passenger seat of his car. We arrived at school where I met Eve and we walked to our locker to swap books. Luke was at his locker so we walked to tutor together. The day went by with a bit of a blur and before I knew it Luke was taking me home. We walked into the kitchen and I really needed some fresh air.

"Do you wanna go for a walk with me?" I asked Luke.

"Of course" He said.  

We dropped our bags off in the house and walked out of the front door. I dragged my oxygen sack behind me in one hand and Luke's hand in the other. We started talking about random things and having a laugh. Suddenly I had this wave of nausea wash over me and I thought it would go away but it didn't. Luke was still talking to me and I couldn't hear what he was saying. Suddenly everything wen't black and I couldn't breathe. 

Luke's POV

We were walking and I was talking to Maia when suddenly she just fell to the floor and blacked out. I didn't know what to do so I called an Ambulance. The Ambulance came in 3 minutes and the paramedics jumped out and took her away. I jumped in the Ambulance as well. They put a mask on her and started CPR in the Ambulance. When we got to the hospital, I got out first and the Paramedics for Maia out of the Ambulance they lead her to a room but I couldn't go in as they had to run some tests. I phoned her parents and they said they'll come in 10 minutes. I decided to phone Austin as they wen't out and he deserves to know what's happened. Maia's parents arrived and they were just as anxious as I was.

After what felt like day's but it was about 3 hours a doctor came out and told us some news.

"There's good news and bad news, let's start off with the good news" The doctor said. "The good news is that she's going to be alright" He said and we all sighed in relief.

"What's the bad news?" I asked anxiously.

"The bad news is...."
