Chapter 2

Maia's POV

We were sitting in French and I was talking to Austin about a few things.

"Did you like your old school or do you prefer this one?" He asked.

To be honest my old school was a sensitive subject as I used to get bullied about everything, it was really bad as well. I thought about committing suicide a few times but I didn't have the guts to actually do it!

"I used to get really badly bullied about my clothes, being a twin and everything they can pick on really. I used to get physically, emotionally, cyberbullied, you name it I got it all. The thing is that no one knows what it's like to be bullied until you are. I wanted to commit suicide a few times but i'm so glad I didn't" I said tears threatening to pour out of my eyes.

"Hey, don't worry about it, you're beautiful just the way you are and if you ever need to talk to someone about anything I'm here. Here's my number and send me a text whenever" he said handing me a piece of paper with his number on it.

"Thank you for everything, I've never had a friend that's a guy before and to be honest I like it" I said.

"You can tell me anything and I promise I wont tell anyone. If you get bullied again tell me who it is and I will break their face" he said seriously. Suddenly the bell rang, I started packing up my things.

"Hey do you wanna eat lunch with me and my friends?" He asked.

"Yeah sure" I said walking to the Canteen with him.

Austin is the first guy to be really nice to me and I do trust him. He's also really hot and when he said he liked dorky girls is was really shocked. I thought he was the type of guy that wanted every girl but i guess that's not the case. I mean he has girls throwing themselves at him and he doesn't even turn a blind eye.

He lead me to where his friends were and introduced me.

"Hey guys this is Maia, she's new here" he said.

"Hey" one of them said.

"Do you wanna go up and grab some lunch?" Austin said to me.

"Yeah" I smiled.

I got some food and followed Austin to sit back down with his friends. I sat next to him and another guy called Tyler I think his name was, he looked like a total player though. I mainly spoke to Austin.

I texted Ruth earlier saying to meet me outside the school gates and I didn't get a reply so I'm guessing that she's with another guy. Suddenly a black car pulled up and it's window was down, it was Austin.

"Hey do you need a lift home?" he asked me.

"Yeah please, you're a life saver" I said getting in the passenger seat of the car.

"How come you were stood outside?" he asked.

"I was waiting for my sister but knowing her she's probably flirting with a random guy that she finds hot" I said.

"Oh right, where do you live?"

"Just around this corner and down at the end of the road"

A few minutes later we arrived.

"My mums not home and neither is my sister, do you want to come in?" I asked.

"Yeah sure" he said.

I unlocked the house and showed him around a bit, we then went up to my room.

My room had a double bed in the middle of it with white sheets on it and a white blanket at the end of it. There was a white desk at the end of my bed up against a wall. There was a a door that opened up to a balcony just next to my bed. It had green walls and I loved my new room so much! (photo on the side -------->) When Austin walked in, his mouth dropped.

"Sorry for all the boxes, I'm still unpacking my room" I said.

"It's alright. Oh my gosh, I love your room, it's amazing!" he said walking around it aimlessly, tripping over a box and falling over.

"Ooooofff" he said.

"Sorry, I did warn you" I said helping him up.

"It's alright. I better get going, my mum will probably be getting worried about me" he said.

I walked him back downstairs and he gave me a peck on the cheek before he left. I stood there smiling like an idiot.

Austin's POV

I know I've only known her for a day but i like her more than a friend. I kissed her on the cheek and she had a big smile on her face! I hope she texts me. I hope she knows that i'm not a player although some of my friends are. I'm glad I don't flirt with every girl I see then the girls I do go out with actually trust me. I wonder what happened to her dad, she only said something about her mum. I want to find that out and then hopefully the whole bulling thing will be unfolded. I got home and went to my room which is no where near as nice as hers, nevertheless it's still a room and I like it. I flopped down on my bed and then suddenly my phone buzzed, it was a message from an unknown number so I opened it.

Hey it's Maia, I thought I would text you before I forget

I texted back.

Hey aww thank you for texting me, I was wondering when you were going to do that ;) xxx

From Maia

Well I did it just now! ;)

Should I make a confession that I like her? Should I bring up the kiss on the cheek? Ugh I don't know what to do anymore.

To Maia:

Quick question, and it might be quite personal but what happened with your dad?

From Maia:

We don't talk about him as he's a bad guy. I'll tell you what happened but you can't tell anyone! He abused me and my sister when we were younger and my mum didn't want anything to do with him so she kicked him out the house. We moved but he just found us again and physically abused me and Ruth more. Then my mum got a better job and we moved here. Nothing can get in my way when i'm with you though. I will tell you if anything happens. It's nice to have a friend that I can trust!

To Maia:

I won't tell anyone I promise. Is that why you got bullied do you think? Well I'm here if you need to talk about anything.

From Maia:

Thank you for everything, I'm so lucky to have a friend like you!

Great she's just friendzoned me. What am I going to say now? Well at leasts she trusts me. I think I should bring up the kiss on the cheek. No maybe I shouldn't. Okay I just have to hide that I like her until I know her feelings towards me.

To Maia:

It's alright, I'm here for you if you need me!

From Maia:

My mum and my sisters home, I will text you later xxxx

To Maia:

Okay text me when your free xxx

From Maia:

I will do bye xxx

I didn't reply after that. I hope she does text me though.
