After another long week of college Saturday eventually arrived. I'm probably not the most excited person in the world about going to this party, but Annie was insistent we need to get out and socialize more. I think she just wanted to get to know Finnick better.

I sigh at myself in the mirror. I look tired and plain, my grey eyes drooping downward. Life at college really hasn't been all that bad, so I don't know why I look so terrible. I plug in a straightener and fix a quick dinner while I wait for it to heat up. I'm not sure if Finnick will be serving food, but I suppose I'll eat here just in case he isn't. After shoving spaghetti down my throat I head back into the bathroom and straighten my usually curly hair. I want to show up to this party at least looking like I tried.

I run to my closet and tug down a plain green dress. Going past my knees it isn't the most flattering dress ever, but at least I will stay comfortable. After slipping it over my head I head back into the bathroom for a makeup touch up.

I glance at my watch to see that the party starts in 20 minutes. I bite my lip as I pace back and forth in the bathroom. If I don't show up it won't matter right? I'm sure I won't be noticed anyways. I smile in satisfaction to myself as I've convinced myself that staying home tonight would be much better, when Annie comes and leans her head on the doorway. "Mind giving me a ride? Don't really want to waste gas if we are both going to the same place." She asks smacking her lips. She looks pretty amazing tonight, a sea green dress flowing to the floor, and her natural curls turned into artificial ones with hairspray and a little magic.

I gulp and am about to tell her that I'm not going when I see something twinkle in her eyes. You'd almost miss it between the batting of her long eyelashes, but it's still there. It's loathing. Loathing to be wanted, accepted, loved. That's what this, and other parties like this, would do for Annie. I have never cared a bit of what others think of me, but to Annie it means the world. I sigh. "Sure, go hop in the car." She gives me a toothy grin and taps the door on her way out, indicating I need to hurry.

I put on the last bit if makeup and tug on a jacket. Then I give myself one long last stare and hurry out the door, my keys jingling at my side. Deciding to take the elevator down to the parking garage, I punch in the button to summon the elevator. I straighten out my dress, and it dings to a stop. The door opens and I'm about to step in when a boy with brown hair and gray eyes, holding hands with a girl of blonde hair and blue eyes, step out. They are laughing and chatting, enjoying each others company. The boy accidentally bumps me on the shoulder and quickly apologizes. I nod my head step inside the elevator. Right before it closes I notice the guy watching me with beady eyes, not taking them off me until the door closes shut.

I try to shake the odd feeling that ran down my spine, and put on a smile for Annie. After the elevator opens, I find my way through the parking garage to where I remember parking my car. Annie is already inside, warming it up, and I hop in, turning on the engine. She winks at me as I punch the address into my GPS. It's not to far away, which makes me glad. I'm still not very good at navigating these city streets. We make our way through campus slowly, watching for his duplex.

As we turn a street lined with cars we know this must be the place. I whip into a parking spot and lock the door on my way out. Annie straightens the back of my dress then gives me a thumbs up. Showtime. We cross the grass to his building and step inside the lobby, heading for the stairs.

I look down at the piece of paper and back at the room 244. A small crowd has gathered waiting to go inside, so Annie and I assume this must be the right place. We go join in with the crowd and hear a small hum of music coming from Finnick's house. Someone up front knocks at the door and it swings inward. We follow them inside. "Welcome!" Finnick is there to greet us. We all file around his entrance and stand awkwardly for a moment. A smile comes across Finnicks face as his flips his chin upward. Suddenly something that looks like white cubes comes raining down on us. I gasp, and reach out to catch one. A sugar cube. Of course. I crush it in my palm as I hear a loud voice screech over the noise. "Finnick!! Look at the mess you've made." I know that voice could only belong to one person, Johanna. An annoyed looking Johanna Mason comes marching from by the door. She points a finger in Finnick's nose and gets up in his face.
